An immediate Holy Book Hockey goal by Dan "Hollerin'" Halleran, eleven seconds in on a snipe after he would cross the blue line, would put them ahead. Lux Interior would respond with Captain Rich Parks, on a swashbuckling run down the wing, which would culminate in him cutting to the middle and going high against the grain for 1-1, which would hold for the second period. The first period shot totals would be 13-10 Lux Interior. The second period would be an all out blitz by Holy Book Hockey, who would have another early period goal, this one after 58 seconds, when Mike "Merf Dog" Merfert would be on the end of a great feed from Hollerin' Halleran, and it would be 2-1. Merf Dog would then double the Bookkeeper lead with a low laser after he would free himself up with his speed, and Halleran would add another when he would deke to his backhand and lift in. Now 4-1, Nick Oyola would increase it to 5-1 when he would fire through traffic, and the period would be capped off with hat trick goals by Halleran and Merf Dog, for a 7-1 advantage going into the third period. The shot totals would now be 27-25 Holy Book Hockey. The third period, due to the lopsided scoreline, would mostly be a non-event, but Lux Interior would pull one back when Kevin "The 77 Train" Tucker would power his way into the offensive zone and finish bar down. That would be the only goal of the third period, in what would be a 7-2 Holy Book Hockey win in which they would also lead on shots 34-33. Eric Brozek of Holy Book Hockey would have a phenomenal game, especially in the second period when his team would have the better of Lux Interior on the other end. Brozek would only concede two goals while his team's lead would continue to increase, finishing with 31 saves. For his efforts, he would be one of the Stateside Tap + Tavern Men of the Match Award, while Dan "Hollerin'" Halleran (3G, 1A), and Mike "Merf Dog" Merfert (3G) would be the others.
