Flaming Dragon II would bang in the first two goals: Sean "Heinz 57" Rappleyea for 1-0 and Mitch Crenshaw from Jake "The Snake" Worby for 2-0. The Flying Dutchmen would bounce back with Matt "Strawberry Milk" Skjeie from Myles Mitchell, and Jon Howard from Strawberry Milk and Justin Klein. Now 2-2, Flaming Dragon would go into the intermission up by one when The Snake would go high from Crenshaw and Vinny Bird "Is The Word." The second period would begin with the shot totals at 15-9 Flaming Dragon, and the lead would double to 4-2 when, 24 seconds in, Bird would finish from Andrew "Lil' Drew" Park. Bird would then add an unassisted goal, he and Lil Drew would assist Crenshaw for 6-2, and it would appear as if a blowout would come. The Dutchmen would pick up the pace and fill the net with Adam Rook from Klein and Mitchell, but Dragon would respond with The Snake form Bird and Ernie "Big Ern" Park. The Dutchmen, with Mitchell unassisted and Klein from Strawberry Milk and Mitchell, would go into the third period with some momentum, now down 7-5, even though they would be behind on shots, 30-23. The Dragons would go up 8-5 through Crenshaw's hat trick goal from Lil' Drew and Big Ern. Bird would complete his hat trick from Crenshaw, and ten seconds later Lil' Drew would make it 10-5. Seven seconds after Lil' Drew's goal, Jon Howard would answer for the Dutchmen, and 30 seconds later, Joe Seickel from Klein would net, and it would now be 10-7. Dragon, who would not yet be able to put away the Dutchmen, would eventually do so with a flurry of goals: Bird from Adam "Manhandle" Crandall, Lil' Drew from Bird and Heinz 57, Bird from Big Ern, and Lil' Drew from Big Ern and Crenshaw, in what would be a 14-7 win in which Flaming Dragon II would outshoot the Flying Dutchmen 42-31. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Vinny Bird (5G, 4A).
