The first period would nearly finish scoreless, but with 13 seconds on the clock, Joe Fallacaro would put Holy Book Hockey ahead. In terms of shots, it would be a wild period, with Holy Book Hockey on 18, and the Pterodactyls on 16; both Eric Brozek of Holy Book Hockey and Jeff Leidner of the Pterodactyls would be the backbones of their teams thus far, with their play in net. The second period would see nearly as much rubber as the first would (Holy Book Hockey would have 15 shots, the Pterodactyls 13). The only difference would be the team scoring the lone goal of the period: The Pterodactyls would light the lamp when Adam "Manhandle" Crandall would beat Brozek low, but after two periods, Holy Book Hockey would lead on shots 33-29. The third period would see more scoring than both the first and second, a total of five. It would begin with a Mike "Merf Dog" Merfert goal from Dan "Hollerin'" Halleran for 2-1 Holy Book Hockey. Andrew Molesky would double the Bookkeeper advantage, but Zach "Zacharoni and Cheese" Zakolski would halve the Pterodactyls' deficit from 3-1 to 3-2. Now with the outcome of the game potentially going in either direction, Holy Book Hockey would go 4-2 up with Hollerin' Halleran unassisted, and at 4-2, that would hold for the final. Both goalies would have phenomenal games: Jeff Leidner would stop 48-52 shots, but the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award would be won by Eric Brozek, who would stop 42/44 shots.
