The Bulldogs would be looking for a massive scalp, taking down the first place Sewer Rats, and they would get off to a good start on that endeavor, with a goal by Anthony Ursino when he would snipe into the top corner. The Sewer Rats would fire back with Evgeny Nikitin unassisted, and it would now be 1-1 which would be the scoreline going into the second period. The shot totals would be 10-10. The second period would be similar to the first, but this time the scoring would be inverted, with the Sewer Rats opening it when Eric Vogt would light the lamp from Boris Raizberg and Eric "Rogus" Bogus. The Bulldogs would then go on a power play (Nikitin slash), and make it count when Mike Ciampi would fire a laser in from the point, for 2-2. The back-and-forth tilt would go into the third by that margin, with the shots now 20 apiece. The third period would be where the winner would be determined, and it would begin on Nikitin's second goal. The Bulldogs would then reel off a pair of goals: Boris Zamolodchikov from Anthony Ursino, and Justin Letizia unassisted, and it would now be the K-9 Unit ahead. Desperate for the equalizer, the Sewer Rats would pull their goalie for the extra attacker, but it would not only be all for naught, but Anthony Ursino would put it in the empty net, for a 5-3 Bulldogs win, over the first place Sewer Rats. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Anthony Ursino (2G, 1A).
