The Tropics would begin with a goal by Dan Kukuyev from Kevin Morello, on a low finish. The Flying Dutchmen would retaliate with Matt "Strawberry Milk" Skjeie unassited, but Kyle Smith would put the Tropics up from John Bastardo. The first period would conclude with Kukuyev from NG Welsh, for a 3-1 cushion going into the second, although the Flying Dutchmen would lead on shots, 14-12. The second period would be more Tropics, who would begin on another high, this time with Smith from Morello, then when NG would blast from Morello for 5-1. The Tropics would go down a man when Ryan Fisher would go off for a hook, and the Flying Dutchmen would make their power play count with Jon Howard from Bob Campi and Christian "The Bumblebee" Larrabee. Now 5-2, the Tropics would go into the third period ahead by that scoreline, but the Flying Dutchmen would increase their lead on shots, now 27-23. The Flying Dutchmen would hope to build off their momentum, but when The Bumblebee would be assessed a trip, would instead have to contend with a Tropics power play. The Tropics would pull to 6-2 ahead with an NG power play goal from Sam Welsh and Morello, and the Flying Dutchmen would see their momentum evaporate. The next Tropics goal would be NG's, completing his hat trick from Ryan Levy, and there would be one more Tropics goal: Smith for a hat trick from Dion Yan. The final would be 8-2 Tropics, who would outshoot the Flying Dutchmen 40-36. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by NG Welsh (3G, 1A), Kevin Morello (4A), and Kyle Smith (3G).
