The Hooligans and Ooff! would play an exciting, but scoreless, first period. Thanks to the goaltending of the James Coughlin of the Hooligans, racking up 10 saves, and Dean Bogner of Ooff!, matching his adversary with ten of his own, the intermission would facilitate a reexamination of each team's gameplan. The adjusted gameplan would result in Ooff! going ahead when Tommy "The Mayor" McNulty would go low from Ray Sarlo and Andrew Bzdula, then doubling the lead to 2-0 on Jon "Das" Boot's goal from Bzdula and Dennis Costello. It would appear as if the Hooligans would go into the third period down by that 2-0 scoreline, but with three seconds remaining in the second period, Mike Leong would knock in a rebound after Big Dave Leong would fire on target. It would then be a difference of one heading into the third, with the shots now 21-20 Ooff!. Now with some momentum, the Hooligans would immediately tie it, when Joe Hutchison would go high on a one-timer from Joe Allen. The Hooligans would continue their newfound form, with Chris Vitale from Hutchison, on an odd-man rush after a great steal by Hutchison, and then when, 36 seconds later, Vitale would go in on a breakaway and deke to his backhand before roofing in. All of a sudden, it would now be 4-2 Hooligans, but Ooff! would battle back with a Ray Sarlo finish, halving their deficit. Dennis Costello would then get into the goal column from Bzdula, for 4-4, and that scoreline would hold for overtime. The shot totals would now be 35 all. The overtime period would feature some great opportunities by each team, but Coughlin and Bogner would be up to the task. In all, each would make five saves, and neither team would find the winner, so both the Hooligans and Ooff! would go home with a point. The final shot totals would be 40-40. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Andrew Bzdula of Ooff! (3A), and Joe Allen (2G) and Joe Hutchison (1G, 1A), of the Hooligans.
