BRISTOL CT August 28, 2013 8:26:08 PM Entry ID: 2039993 | Here are the draft grades and summaries for each: A-NOBODY Not a single team capitalized on full potential, although with 5 teams each team will be solid and competitve, the opportunity for a DYNASTY type team was there. B+ New Orleans Pelicans-At the time the trade looked lopsided for Rambo as he could have had Duffy at 5 and 6, but his head games with Dave Delatre put pressure on him which insured him getting 2 top 3 talents. The bench will need to carry the load when asked or an amazing top 3 team will struggle when the bench needs their 6 minutes. B+ Baltimore Bullets- As the draft day rumors of a major trade to get number 1 and take Weiler loomed, perhaps the Bullets benefitted heavily without him. They got 2 hardworking hustle talents with "DiFemeo" but also loaded up on "The Affets". This team has oozing potential all over, but with this many big names and ballwanters, trouble could abrew. B Seattle SuperSonics- Frustrated by his teams end in NOBL 5, Mike Blank vowed to be a captain. But to all our surprise, he drafted a nearly identical team. The notable switch being Matt MacFarlen to Joe Flaherty. A great swap on paper but will the attitudes gel as "The Chatterbox" of the NOBL will call for that ball early and take touches away from the sharpshooters Blank Brown and Halata. B- Minneapolis Lakers Delattre returned as captain for this? He drafted his buddies and the Commish in hopes to prove he can be a leader and not just a star. A lot rides on the shoulders of first round hype "Dave Girton". James Rambo got the best of him and forced an intended late real steal to be 3rd overall changing draft plans early on. This team is the boom or bust squad of the fall league, odds are that this team will eek in the playoffs and their fate after that is all on the former MVP. D+ Cincinnaty Royales Where do we begin? According to sources there was a late plan to swap with Delatre and take DeFeo and DiMar but the Bullets shot that plan down. So on the fly planning ended up giving the Royales one of the most questionable drafts. Mike Miller? Wade Borsavage? Last years big bust Swanekamp? RYAN GOLIN AT 11? Maybe if this was an egan alumni game this team would thrive but in NOBL they will wilt.Unless trades are made or Mike Miller is the former Miami Heat player, the standings are jumbled minus the bottom spot. -Bill Simmons |
