What a year!!!! Tommy we need one more poll to end the year. What is the most memorable moment? 1) EITB/Knechts win another championship 2) Kresge call Wagner an Ass with not class 3) Mader uses league office to not play when he doesn't have all his guys? 4) All the crying about illegal bats?

I believe we could hit as many pop ups, short fly outs and grounders to short with a wood bat as we do with any other bat!

The last player to use a wooden bat was our shortstop Jack Rader, back in the mid 90s, when we were Mountain Springs Lake.

Here's some ideas for next year (1) After using the so called "mush balls" in the Garver tourney and seeing them fly into orbit, I think we should keep the ball we have which fly's the same (or not even as far as the "mush") but is cheaper to buy. (2) There should be some discussion at the winter meetings about making it mandatory for pitchers to wear shin guards, helmets or both. They also have a softball face guard which is light weight, if the guys didn't want to wear a helmet. I think most pitchers would probably not want to wear the gear for fear of "looking ridiculous" but if it was a league rule they would have no choice, it would make it safer and take away the embarrassment factor. (3) Not the first one to bring it up but the "share the bats rule" is a good idea. That should take away any bat nonsense by allowing players from both teams to swing any bat from either team. (4) A 3rd place team and trophy. Have the 2 semi-final teams that lost in the second round of the playoffs play each other in a 5 game series to determine 3rd place. It's good for the players and the sponsors get a trophy. (5) For the Garver tournament, a Home Run Derby. If each participant paid $10.00 and we ran it on both fields for a couple of hours we could raise some decent extra funds. The winner could get a big trophy and a donated gift certificate from a local business or something should be a decent enough prize. They are a lot of fun to be in and watch.

Tommy, It's been a long dysfunctional year of juiced bat talks, scheduling gripes, poor fileds, Impy's hair, Todd who hasn't been in the leage for five years and a whole bunch of other wonderful topics to stew about over the winter and bitch about at the first meeting. It's time to shut me down for a long winters nap!!! Thank You!

picking the 2 best players from each team might be a mistake though. you'll end up with Bob Capasso on the all-star team.

This league should put together an all star team to represent the league. We can pick two players from every team. Ive heard of other asa leagues around the area doing this.. Its just an idea because we have some outstanding individuals with exceptional talent

Just want to take a minute to congratulate both EITB on their championship and my guys on Rudy's for a great first season! Energy, you guys taking 2 from us at our house shows what a great team you have. Rudy's, I know losing tonight by 1 run was tough and we all wanted that game 5 but this is just the beginning. We'll build on that and hopefully take it to the next level next year. Congrats to ROF/Canfield's for their tournament win and thanks to Bernie, Phil, Tracy, Impy, John and the rest of the volunteers for the time they put in to make the Garver tournament the success it is and will be again next year.
