Back In It Nov.20 Weekly Update
After Months of the final standings being decided some teams have decided to shake off some rust.
The D Jays and Black Sox have compeated in a 6 game series in witch the D Jays Swept winning all 6 game none of witch went into extra innings but we do have quite a few record braking and all time moments happening in those Games so I thought it would be good to mention them here.
The Black Sox broke a record for most balls thrown in a row by a single pitcher. Courage White, threw 13 straight balls to load the bases and score some runs. Before the inning ended the Black Sox threw 17/21 pitches as balls only throwing a whooping 5 strikes in the whole inning and only allowed 2 runs! although the runs scored on balls was not great, maybe iy was all part of the plan!
The Black Sox Courage White also hit his 3rd HR of the season and the Franchises 4th HR over all.
The D Jays Batter Eric Jones also broke records by hitting the longest HR in MLWB history with a 69Ft HR that was completely crushed and had no doubt in anyones mind that is was not leaving the stadium.
The Final Tally although not record braking but definitely noticeable is the fact that all but 1 out for the Black Sox where strikeouts, this is not the first time the D Jays pitcher Eric Jones has done it THIS SEASON as he has done it before against the Mind Games in which he struck out the Mind Games 17 Times out of the 21 AB the Mind Games had. although letting more hits and AB and not all the strikeouts where in a row, the Black Sox struck Out 18 Times setting a new record for most strikeouts in a series by one team or player. I didn't think 17 could be beat but who knows if 18 will ever be broken in the history of the MLWB.
The 2017 MLWB playoffs are under way and all 3 Teams are in the running for the Championship. The Returning team from the 2016 Season, The D Jays Have finished in 1st (22-3) and have clinched Home feild advantage for the League Champion series. While the newly in coming team the Mind Games finished in second (9-14) and have clinched a home feild advantaged for the qualifying game to play against the D Jays in the League championship round. The Black Sox (2-16) have finished last. And will try to win the series with no Home field advantage in any series they play in.
The 2017 Playoffs will be a 3 team Double elimination Series that will work out like so.
WBQG (Winner Bracket Qualifying Game) Is a single Game played by the 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the final standings of the season. The team that loses will be the first team the enter the Qualifying bracket.
WBCS (Winner Bracket Champion Series) This is a Best of 5 or 7 Games series played between the team that finished 1st in the League and the winning team of the WBQG. The winning team of this series will gain a series advantage in the World Series. The Winning team Is then decided to go on too the World Series. The losing team will then play the loser of the WBQG.
ALL-STAR GAME: This Game Takes Place Between the WS All-STARS and the LEAUGE-ALL_STARS. with the best Player(s) from the team That has already made the world series, and the best player(s) from the 2 Teams playing in the (QRCS). The winning Team Clinshes the Choice of Wether to have the first or second series to Have Home Feild Advantage on In the World Series.
QRCS (Qualifying Round Champion Series) This is a best of 5 or 7 game series Played between the losing teams in the WBQG and WBCS. The team that lost in the WBCS gains home feild advantage in this series. The team that wins the series will go On the face the winning team in the WSC, in possibly 2 series.
WSC ( World Series Championship Series 1) This is a best of 5 or 7 Game series between the winners of the WBCS and QRCS. This Series may or may not decied the World Series Champion. If the team that has the series advantage (The winning team of the WBCS) Wins this series, then the World Series championship is over and That team has won. However is the team without the series advanatge ( The winning Team of QRCS) Wins this series then the two teams will play another series of games.
WSC ( Series 2 ) If it Comes to this series then the World Series champion will be decided by this series. This is a Best of 7 series and the winning team are the MLWB champions.
2017 Playoff Predictions and Power Rankings
with the Playoffs slowly approaching and each teams final standings have been placed, Who do you think will come out on top as the World Series champions? Will the Black Sox come out of the Dark and pull a massive up set? Or will the D Jays do what they have been doing all season and bring it into the past season. Or can the Mind Games bring their respectable record into an outstanding victory and Come Out on Top? We interviewed our only fan who has came to a few Games and says she will be attending some playoff games.
When asked who she thinks will win the WBQG she said that the match could be a close one considering both teams have losing records despite the season record between the two teams is 1-13 in favour of the Mind Games.
How ever when brought up the Black Sox reputation to win games under pressure in the expetrimental season, her attitude seemed to change in the fact that the Black Sox Might pull it off and Head to the bracket championship
When also asked about the players she said that Jayden of the Mind Games tends to have a more competitive spirit then Courage of the Black Sox.
However she said in the end she could see the D Jays and Mind Games playing in the World Series with the D Jays with the series advantage. She believes this because she said the D Jays are a more consistent and again despite informing her of the last series played between these two teams she said that the D Jays will most likely come out on top, no matter the score. And that the recent series will not effect a thing.
Power Rankings
1st: D Jays. Tho the D Jays has shown signs of their offence slowing down and winning 3-2 in the closes series they have played to date. They still came onto of the Mind Games on the 5 Game road stand so they Remain on top of our MLWB Power Rankings.
2nd: Mind Games. The Mind Games has shown a strong need for HomeRuns for when it comes too it, You will find most often their players winning for the fences instead of looking for base hits when they need it most. Because of this, the Mind Games finished with the Most strikeouts as a team in the whole season
3rd: Black Sox: The Black Sox struggle to get anything going, and when they do get it going, its either too late to come back or they failed to hold on. This team was inconsitant only winning 2 of the 18 games they played wich quickly put them out of hopes of getting a home playoff series advantage.
