The Cambria County American Legion League Playoffs will begin Thursday July 10, 2025 with a pair of best of three semifinal series on the slate. Unlike years past, the Cambria County Legion League will send four playoff representatives to the Region 7 Tournament. Host team St. Michael will also be in the Region 7 bracket, but is not included in the playoffs due to their host status. Beginning Thursday at 5:30 pm, top Seeded Claysburg (11-3) will host fourth seed Hollidaysburg Gold (7-5) in one matchup while third seed Bedford (11-4) will host second seed Philipsburg (11-3). All playoff games will be played on consecutive days until a winner is determined. Winners of each of these series will meet in a best of three format to determine the league's top two seeded representatives at the Region 7 Tournament in Sidman, PA next week. Losers of the first round series will play in a third-place game to determine the third seed for regionals.
Cambria Legion Teams Set To Start Region 7 Tournament at St. Michael
The Cambria County American Legion League will host the 2025 PA Region 7 Tournament beginning today Saturday July 19, 2025 with four games on the schedule. Host team St. Michael will take the field at 5pm on their home turf at Forest Hills High
School. From the Cambria Legion playoffs Philipsburg emerged as league champ with a 3-0 win over Bedford. The teams played a one game playoff for championship rights due to weather and a limited scheduleing window. Bedford took the second seed
out of Cambria, while first place regular season champ Claysburg claimed the third entry in the Region 7 Tournament. All tournament games will be played on consecutive days until a winner is determined. The winner of the week long tournament, which also will utilize Portage Area High School field, will advance next week to the PA State Tournament.
2025 Cambria County American Legion Baseball Season To Open May 30th
The 2025 Cambria County American Legion Baseball season will open May 30th with a revised lineup. Back for 2025 are perennial contenders Bedford, Claysburg, and St. Michael. Also back are Hollidaysburg Blue, Hollidaysburg Gold Fort Fetter Post 516, and Richland Post 849. Joing the league in 2025 are former Central Penn League powerhouses Bellefonte and Phillipsburg. The top four league teams will qualify for an NBA play-in style format playoffs, where three teams from the league will qualify for the Region 7 American Legion Baseball Tournament, along with league host St. Michael in July. The winner there will earn a chance to compete in the 2025 PA State American Legion Tournament. Follow the season all summer right here for scores, stats, and updates.
