Boys Big 12 and ACC
Boys finished 3rd-5th and Boys finished 6th-8th
FREE THROWS PRIOR:
Each member of team will take one free throw prior to the start of the game. Each shot will count as two points and will go towards game points. If teams are uneven, a player who missed will shoot again until equal number of shots have been taken. (Shot will be taken at a slightly shorter distance, first hash mark, for BIG 12.)
TIME:
10-minute quarters with a running clock.
Substitutions will check in at the clock table and will be entered by referee during an inbounding or foul shot situation.
DEFENSE:
Quarters 1 and 3 will be played in a 2-3 defense.
Quarter 2 will be played in a half court man defense.
No full court defense in these three quarters.
Quarter 4 will be played in any defense desired by the coach.
THE LAST 5 MINUTES:
The last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter will be stopped clock only if the game is within 10 points. Teams may play a full court defensive press the last 5 minutes.
PLAYING TIME:
No limits or minimums of playing time, but attempting to keep mostly even play is desired.
FOULS:
If fouled in an act of shooting, player will shoot one free throw. The free throw will count as TWO points, even if the shot was made during the foul. Hence a 4-point play is possible. If fouled not in the act of shooting, the team will take the ball out on the side or under the basket. Any player receiving 5 fouls will be fouled out.
HALFTIME:
Halftime will be 4 minutes in length.
TIMEOUTS:
Each coach is allowed two time outs a game, each 60 seconds in length. They can be used in any half.
BIGGEST and MOST important rule!!!! Have fun!!!
