The 16U Lenape girls softball team bought home a tournament championship over Columbus Day weekend. The Lenape girls went an amazing 6-0 in the tourny. In Saturdays seeding games they defeated the CK Lady Cardnials (13-0), Bucks County Militia (11-0) and the NJ Raiders (8-0) to secure the top seed of the Tournament. After a 1st round bye, Lenape defeated the Staten Island Assassins (8-0) to keep their shut out streak alive. A semi final victory against Kaboom (11-0), thier 5th shutout in a row, sent Lenape to the Championship game. The shutout streak came to an end as the NW Explosion put up 5 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 5-4 lead. The Lenape girls stormed right back and took home the championship with an 11-5 victory.
14u Blazers win 2020 Jefferson Fall League Championship
The 14U Blazers took home the 2020 Jefferson League Fall Championship, with a dominant 17-7 win over the Randolph Rage. The Blazers finished the regular season and entered the Playoffs as the #2 seed with a 7-4-1 record. The Blazers eked out a very close 4-3 win against the #10 seeded Kittatinny Cougars in the first round of the playoffs. Paige Henriksen pitched a great game giving up 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 4. She also had a huge triple to rally the Blazers to the 4 runs needed to win the game. In the Semi Final round, the Blazers took on the #5 seeded Parsippany Lightning. The Blazers bats really heated up in this one as they bested the Lightning 11-1. Addie Doyle, Lily Kays, Sarah O'Reilly and Callie Stevenson all went 2 for 2 to lead the onslaught. Avery Miller pitched a gem, giving up 4 hits and 1run while striking out 6. The Blazers then faced off with the the #1 seeded Randolph Rage. The bats remained hot as the team pulled away in the 4th inning for a 17-7 championship game victory. Ava Hosonitz led the way with 3 hits, and Jazzy Olivier, Julia Paiva, Julia Parise, Raya Shefferman, Lily Kays, Giada Richards and Callie Stevenson added 2 hits a piece. Avery Miller pitched 5 strong innings for her 2nd victory of the day. Adrianna Gangi was 3 for 6 on the day and played stellar defense at 1st base. Congratulations to the young ladies on a much deserved Championship.
2019 Bazers 12U has strong season
The 12u Blazers Travel team walked away from the 2019 season with some hardware to celebrate their hardwork and dedication they showed all season long. The 12U team earned Campionships in both the Richard Atalese Memorial and the Runnin with the Rebels Tournaments. They also took 2nd place in the Denville Summer League and now look forward to moving up to the 14U level in the fall.
2014 12U Blazers Denville Summer League Champions
The Blazers 12U team fought hard in the Denville 12U B Summer League ending in a thrilling come from behind victory to win the League Championships. The summer season got off to a rough start having many games cancelled due to weather which resulted in being seeded 4th entering into the playoffs with a record of only 3-2. Furhter challenging the girls was the emotional move to Florida of starting catcher Taylor Vara who would not be there for Playoffs and greatly missed. After defeating the Denville Blue Devils 15-10 in the first round and then the Randolph Rage 6-1 with some needed late inning scoring, the Blazers entered the Championships against the Sparts Diamonds on a high note dampened only upon the news that Missy Vanklingeren would not be able to join us due to a previous family commitment. The Championship game began with Sparta taking an early lead in the first inning that the Blazers tried to counter with key at bats by Skylar Reid and Amanda Young and an impeccable bunt from Julianna Paprota that turned into extra bases on an over throw. Down 5-3 entering the top of the 6th, it seemed as though the Blazers could not overcome the deficit they had been presented with. In true Blazer fashion though, when faced with adversity, they conquer in the end. Starting with a leadoff double from Annie Catanzaro, the bats ignited in a flurry of singles, doubles and triples from Molly Giusti, Alexia Lacatena, Taylor Grauer, Sam Romano and the 3-3 hitting Jessie Stevenson. It did not end there as hits and RBI's continued from Cameron Brown, Juliana Paprota, Hannah McGinn and Amanda Young culminating in a 9 run inning to take the lead 12-5. Having to now hold onto this wave of offense, the Balzers defense took over with continued pinpoint pitching and fielding from Alexia Lacatena and highlight worthy plays from Hannah McGinn, Skylar Reid and Molly Giusti. The Sparta team now deflated could not retaliate and the Blazers ended the game as Champions with a 12-6 triumph. As short of a season as it was, the girls all gained in ability and effort which is something we all strive for them to accomplish. A Championship was just the icing on the cake.
2014 14U Sparta Spring League Champions
The Lenape Blazers 14U team brought home a NW Spring League 14U National Division Championship trophy with a come from behind 13 -11 victory over the Butler Stars. After completing the regular season with a 7 - 2 - 1 record and earning the number two seed and a first round bye, the Blazers defeated the Randolph Rage 7-4 in the 2nd round and the Roxbury Rebels 7-6 in the semi-finals to move on to the finals. Down 10-2 in the 2nd inning, the Blazers stormed back with big hits from Skye Burlew and a two run homer by Meghan Giusti to take the lead 12-10. The Blazers played solid defense all night with Julia Chuck, Maggie Hosler and Skye Burlew turning in some defensive gems to stall Butler rallies. Dani Fralley settled down after a rough first two innings for a complete game victory. It was a very successful season for all the Blazers girls as each one showed much improvement throughout the season. Kelly Rafferty did a great job pitching all season and Sophie Ruggieri and Aislinn Rudio played stellar defense at the catcher and outfield positions. Paige Dellosso anchored the first base position and Lauryn Schwint, Taylor Fralley and Aimee Orlando did a great job playing multiple positions all season long. Congratulations Blazers your hard work and dedication earned you a much deserved Championship.
