COVID19 Safety Rep & Hockey Nova Scotia Rebound Plan

Please see below the links to the COVID19 Safety Rep training module and the Safety Rep PSA. If you have not completed this yet, please complete asap. We would encourage both NSWHL Safety Reps as well as all players to complete this training to be educated on the expectations of a safe return to hockey.

Basic points to remember.

- limit spectators. unless I have included that spectators are allowed at a certain rink, they are not. There are no children allowed, You team may only have one adult spectator per player and if you want to have them they must be included on your screening form. If we have any issues with these rules not being followed, we will change our policies. All players and spectators must be on the tracker. The form is on the Rebound plan. You can prefill in your whole team and then cross people off as you like or complete it online but must be done same day as your games. At any point in the 30 days following your game you need to be able to produce the tracker if required.

- We will not be doing a regular hand shake after the game. Teams are still welcome to do air high fives with their gloves on or elbow bumps based on their comfort level.

- Please come as dressed as possible (especially if you are finding it hard to be ready within the 15 minutes) and know that the expectation is that masks be on until you put your helmet on and are going onto the ice.

- Please label your water bottle and bring it full to the rink.

- most dressing rooms will not have keys so please do not bring any valuables.

- We recommend that teams pre-fill out their games sheets before arriving to the rink or use the stickers with your full team on them so you can just cross out who isn't there. We do not want to be holding up games to complete game sheets.

- NO SPITTING on the ice. The consequences are measured as a team. First and second occurrences will be a warning but third will be a new minute bench minor and a fourth will be a ten-minute misconduct and it would continue from there.

- Officials will be blowing down group battles on the board much faster than in previous years and if there were to be scrums it would be a quick break up and players are to be respectful. Not complying will result in penalties.

- Masks on unless you are on the ice with a helmet on. Coaches, time keepers and spectators must comply. This is before and after your games. Hockey NS has confirmed that there will be disciplinary actions for those found to be following this policy.

We encourage everyone to review the Hockey Nova Scotia Rebound Plan available at https://5647e90c-cdn.agilitycms.cloud/HNSReboundPlanOct19.pdf

Thank you,

NSWHL Executive
