Vineland Police Explorers Post #112 was charted by the Boy Scouts of America in 1975, and is the oldest Police Explorer Past in Cumberland County. The members of the Explorer Post are not sworn Law Enforcement Officers! The program gives young adults between the ages of 13 and 18 a chance to explore all facts of law enforcement. The program furthers its member’s general education and assists the explorer in preparing for a career in the law enforcement field.
Cumberland County Police Youth Week
Cumberland County Police Youth Week began in 1976, with the support of the Cumberland County Chiefs of Police Association. Police youth week is geared toward those youths between the ages of 13-17 that may be interested in a law enforcement career. The area police departments; Bridgeton, Cumberland County Sheriffs Department, Millville, and Vineland all participate in running the camp. The camp is open to youths who reside in Cumberland County, with a total of approximately 60 slots available. It is a week long program that includes Physical fitness, Drilling ceremonies, and other Police functions, such as Range instruction and Law instruction. After the week long session, in which the youth stay over night in barracks with Officer Supervision, the youth are paraded into a high school auditorium where they go through graduation ceremonies.
