Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?

My Dad. He would make unbelievable plays at shortstop. Also my uncles: Randy and Robert Romero. Randy was probably the fastest player Ive seen play the game and Robert was hitting em out about 350ft with the old school bombat.

Allworld, or J-Ro

Where do you call home?

Denver, CO  (where the cost of living is going up, and the chance of living is going down!)

What do you do for a living?

Deliver construction equipment

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?

Played basketball, football, and baseball in highschool

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?

Started playing with my Dad and uncles in the mid 90’s on Friday nights at “wino park” 23^rd & Welton

What position do you play?

Started as a left fielder than got my own team together and didn’t have a pitcher so I started pitching the rest is history.

What batting grip do you use?

Regular grip, sometimes choke up

What ounce bat do you use?

26oz

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?

Nothing!  If I knew how good I am now(was) I would have put in a lot of hitting into my game.

What is your favorite sports team?

Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rockies, New York Yankees

What is your favorite sport other than softball?

Football. Little league and high school

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?

I wipe off the pitchers mound every time before the inning starts. I smooth out the batters box than take a couple swings. When crossing home plate gotta do something extra.

What is your most memorable softball moment?

Theres 2. Playing in Hispanic Worlds with a team I honestly thought was only going to win 1 game. The only reason I went is because my Big Homie Dino really wanted me to go, so I did and we ended going to Championship game.

The other was The Whole Enchilada. Going 8-0 winning MVP and beating an allstar team put together by Mile High 21-1, and then calling Dino (who was at home) and hearing Helen say Dino was in tears!

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?

First take out the pitching mound. Go back to aluminum bats cause guys will always find a way to shave their bats and not get caught

What is your favorite non-World tournament?

1.)The DINO GARCIA MEMORIAL.  2.)It used to be “Hit the Gap, 9man Tournament” played at Vanderbilt. Only 9 guys on defense-it was a non-sanctioned tourney 3.) Rocky Mtn. Shootout

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?

We were playing a ISA tourney in Colo Springs and we had to put Dino in right field and he didn’t want to hustle, so I got on the mound pitched it while he was still goin out to his position the batter hit it over his head, so theres Dino haulin ass to get the ball, he throws it to his cut who then throws the guy out at home plate. Oh Dino was upset with me with that one. (SORRY D, lol)
