2017 - Chili Lions Cheerleading Important Information

All Cheer Teams practices will start on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Davis Park – off of Chestnut Ridge.

All teams will meet at the concession stand.  We will practice Monday-Thursday from 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM for the month of

August at Davis Park in Chili.   Mitey Mite & Tiny-Mite Cheer will reduce their practice times due to their age;

*Once school starts we will practice Tuesday & Thursday from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:30 am to noon at the Total Sports Experience (TSE) on Elmgrove Rd in Gates.  The first month of practice we work on fundamentals of cheerleading.  Then we start learning our competition cheer routine.  We have been very successful with our cheer program and we are very excited to have another amazing season.

COMPETITION DATES - The CHILI LION’s cheerleaders have been very successful in prior years when it comes to competitions. We have traveled to Florida the last 3 years.  We will all attend the GRPWLS level competition held in October. Should we be successful there, you should anticipate travel in November and possibly December for all levels except the Mitey Mites & Tiny-Mite/Flag. (They will participate at the Greater Rochester Pop Warner Little Scholars level and local competitions to prepare them for the completive levels) We will be doing extra fundraising for travel to help defray the girls travel cost, so please keep that in mind and check out our Fundraising  Tab for a list of all fundraisers.    Important Cheer Tournament Information & Dates: TBA (Additional Competitions may be added)

RULES -Every girl must bring a water bottle to every practice.  Cheerleaders should wear athletic sneakers, t-shirts and shorts (sweat pants/shirts) with no buttons, snaps or zippers are required for the safety of all of the girls.  Cell phones must stay in yours daughters bag and will not be allowed to use during practices or games.  If your child is unable to attend a practice please notify the coaching staff. Pop Warner rules prohibit the wearing of jewelry/earrings (of any kind), glitter, tattoos, hair beads, nail polish and nails over a certain length and no artificial nails. Please be aware of these rules prior to starting in August.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS - Chili Lions supplies each cheerleader with a uniform (shell/skirt) and warm-up (jacket/pants). These items will need to be returned at the end of the season.  Washed and in good condition.  If we do not receive your uniform and warm-ups we will send you an invoice at the end of the season.  Cheerleaders will be required to purchase white aerobic sneakers (to be worn as competitions only), white half turtleneck (Body Wrappers brand) and lollies to be worn for game day and competitions. These items can be purchased at a reduced price at Empire Cheer in Henrietta.  Hair bows will be provided by the Lions and are your Childs to keep after the season. Also per team by the coaches discretion hairpieces may be required.

EXTRA’S - Your cheer squad's Team Mom will be collecting $10 by September 1st per cheerleader to cover end of the year gifts for the coaches, your team mom is responsible for collecting those funds for each team.  There may be an extra fee for a team 2016 T-shirt. Also per team by the coaches discretion hairpieces may be required.

Parent Behavior - CLF will not tolerate poor or unsportsmanlike behavior.  Any inappropriate language or outbursts involving children, coaches,  staff or board members will result the parents ask to leave and further disciplinarian actions may result in the immediate removal of the participants involved. 

TEAM MOMS- All teams have a mother that helps the coaching staff and are there to help with communications from the Coaching Staff and/or Board Members.  Their role is a huge asset to everyone; please feel free to work with them if you have any concerns.

Student Demonstrators- The Demonstrator is used to teach moves, cheers, chants, etc.  Demonstrator must be 2 years older than the team they are helping with.  A Student Demonstrator for a cheer/dance squad must have had at least two seasons prior cheer/dance experience.

VOLUNTEERS- We need many volunteers to make our program run successfully.  We value all of your time and whatever time you can give to us is greatly appreciated!!  We are ALL here for all of YOUR children. The Parent Pledge is a great way to get your name on lists to help us throughout the year.  You are required to volunteer at least 4 hours a season – 2 hours during the Month of August and at least 1 hour at 2 home games.  Mark Todd is our Volunteer Coordinator and he and your team moms will be contacting all families to volunteer.

Concession Stands - At Davis Park & Merante Fields we do have a full concession stand with food, snacks, candy and beverages.  The concession stand is ran by volunteers please signup to help us all out. 

Cheer Show Off- Every Thursday while we are Davis Park all cheer teams will meet at the baseball diamond and will show off a cheer or routine.  Please come and support all the teams’ hard work.  Time TBD

CLF Paraphernalia - During the middle of August – Rich from Shack Apparel will be at the practice fields and will have several items for you to purchase to help you and your child support CLF with Purple/Gold/White items.  Please stop by and purchase some items!!

EMAILS & HANDOUTS - We do a majority of communication via email.   Please be mindful that some handouts are sent home for notifications with updates & fundraisers.  Please take special note to everything that is sent home with your children.

PICTURE DAY - Team and individual pictures will be on TBD (during normal practice schedule) at Merante Memorial Park in Full Uniform.  Order Forms will be sent home prior to picture day.  You do not have to purchase a package but your child should be in attendance for the team photo. 

FUNDRAISERS - We have a mandatory program fundraiser prior to season starting information provided at Registration. We also will have individual participant fundraisers throughout the year to help raise money for each participants travel account. 

GAME DAY - All cheerleaders are required to attend and cheer on their football teams.  Games will be held on Sundays, starting in September, times TBA pending scheduling. There is normally 7 weeks of games both home and away.  When we have the schedule we will make it available for everyone. Please be aware that all dates and times are subject to change. All Cheerleaders are required to cheer at all games, if your child is unable to attend a game please notify the coaching staff. Our home fields are at Memorial Park located behind the Senior Center at 3235 Chili Ave, across from Chili Paul Plaza. Snacks will be up to the coaches by team.

FUNDRAISERS - We have a mandatory program fundraiser prior to season starting information provided at Registration.  We also will have individual participant fundraisers throughout the year to help raise money for each participants travel account. 

Yearbooks, Trophies & Banquet - Every participant will receive a Trophy and Yearbook at the end of the season – there is no charge for these items.  Dedication will be accepted until the end of September.  There are end of the season events/banquets for all levels – looks for information from your Team Moms.
