Inning 1:         - Kamen Mahoney pitching, and Gretna came out swinging – line drive down left field line for a double. A bunt by the next batter is bobbled, getting the batter safely to 1st and the runner comes home. But the next batter tries to bunt again and pops up, Kamen handles it for out #1.  The next batter strikes out looking, and out #3 hits it to Kamen, who tosses to 1st to retire the side.  Gretna scores 1.

- Ryan Ehresman starts with a walk, then Jared Hemphill’s sac bunt moves Ryan to 2nd and a double by Thomas Tews brings him home. Gretna then changes pitchers. A passed ball moves Thomas to 3rd, and a nice hit by Kamen brings him home. Kamen got picked off on 1st though, and Landon Garrelts strikes out to end the inning.  Score is 1-2 Concordia on top.

Inning 2:         - Inning starts with a line drive to Left field. Kamen strikes out the next 2 batters, but the runner steals around and a passed ball on a 3rd strike puts the 4th batter on base and brings batter #1 home.                         - Nate Schwanke walks, Buck Leinen strikes out, and Ben Kardell walks to put runners at 1st and 2nd. Jackson Cummins singles to load the bases.  An attempted suicide ends up getting Nate tagged out between 3rd and home, but Ryan connects on the next pitch to right field.  An E9 gets him to 2nd and scores Ben.  Jackson then scores on a passed ball when Jared is batting, and we have runners at 1st and 3rd. But a K for Thomas ends the inning. Gretna 2 – Concordia 4.

Inning 3:         - Gretna is retired 1-2-3; 2 Ks and a pop up behind the plate which Ben handles for the out.

Inning 4:         - First batter starts with a dropped 3rd strike, but Ben handles it well and throws the batter out at 1st.  A double puts a runner at 2nd, and the next better hits deep to left.  Jared makes a nice diving catch, but the ball comes out while transferring to throw. The batter would have been safe, but had started to walk to the dugout already so was declared out. Kamen retires the side with another K to keep the score 2-5.

                        - Ben and Jackson are both retired with throws to first, but Ryan gets on when the 1st baseman pulls his foot off the bag. Jared had a great hit to deep center field, but unfortunately the outfielder was there to make the catch.  Score still 2-5, Concordia ahead.

Inning 6:         - Gretna begins with a walk, then a line drive past 2nd gives the defense trouble and runners are at 1st and 2nd. A strikeout gives out #1, but a passed ball lets the first batter score and the second batter advance. But defense buckles down and Kamen gets the next batter with a K. The last batter pops up and Kamen makes a nice grab to retire the side. Gretna scores 1.

Inning 7:         - First Gretna batter is thrown out 4-3, but next one drives one that’s too hot to handle and it gets past the infield. But no worries, Kamen gets the next two with Ks to end the game.
