Hardball Black was able to hold off a stubborn Hardball White team edging them 3-1. Led by a strong pitching performance from Orlando Estevez who did not allow a hit through 4 innings of work. He struck out 5 batters allowing only one unearned run. Johnny Iglesias and Raul Rodriguez combined to close out the final two innings to preserve a well earned victory for Hardball Black. The offense was led by Mason Tejeda who went 2 for 2 with a double. Sebastian Del Valle had a key hit driving in Orlando Estevez with the eventual game winning run in the second inning.
HARDBALL BLACK OPENS SEASON WITH A FAMILY AFFAIR
Hardball Black opens the season at home with academy mates Hardball White. Adrian Perez will toe the rubber for Hardball White, while Hardball Black will counter with Orlando Estevez. Both teams will be looking to start the season on a positive note.
HARDBALL BLACK HAMMER GIANTS 15-2
Fueled by a dominant start by Danny Castillo and a reawakening of the bats, Hardball Black cruised to a 15-2 victory over the Giants. Castillo pitched two innings striking out four batters and not allowing a single Giant to reach base. He parlayed his pitching performance with a great day at the plate going 3 for 4 driving in a run and scoring two. Giovanni Vera accounted for 6 runs, both scoring and driving in 3 runs while going 2 for 4 at the plate. Other players with multi hit games included Sebastian Del Valle, Mason Tejeda, & Sebastian Bueno. Hardball Black also supported the pitching and offensive performance by keeping a clean sheet defensively not committing any errors. The team had not had such a dominant performance in quite some time, and it has propelled them to a 2-0 start to the season.
