The starting pitcher comes to the mound to take his warm-up throws to start the game. He is wearing a compression sleeve only on his throwing arm. The opposing coach demands that the sleeve be taken off before the pitcher may pitch.  What is the call?

A base runner is on first when the batter receives ball four.  The catcher drops the ball.  the runner advancing to second goes to third and the batter advances to second.  Can the runners advance?  Why?

With no runners on base, the pitcher starts his windup or preliminary motion and the ball slips from his hand.  What is the infraction?

Answer:  There is no infraction provided the pitcher delivers the pitch within 20 seconds after he receives the ball.  If the pitcher fails to do so the batter is awarded a ball.  If there had been a runner or runners on base, dropping the ball while in contact with the pitchers plate is a balk if the ball did not cross the foul line.  Each base runner shall be awarded one base.

The runner misses second base and, with the ball still in play, attempts to return and touch second base.  The defense simply announces that he missed second base.  Is runner safe or out?

Answer:  Since the runner has initiated action to return, the defense must tag him unless it is a force play, in which case all they would need to do is touch the base with the ball.

Runner 1 is on thid base with no outs.  Runner 1 attempts to score on a fly ball to the left fielder.  The throw to the catcher is near perfect.  Runner 1 sees that the play is going to be close.  As the catcher stretches for the ball to tag runner, runner 1 attempts to hurdle the catchers outstretched arms as the ball bounces in front of the plate and skips into dead ball territory.  As runner 1 is in the air, the catcher's glove catches runner 1's foot and both lose their balance and tumble to the ground.
