Q: How long is the season?

A: Registration opens in September, and games start in November. The regular season finishes by spring break, with an optional tournament held in April. Games are held during the winter holiday break or spring break.

Q: How often do you play?

A: Teams play one home and one away game against each team. On average, teams play 24 games total, plus the tournament. Usually, each team plays one to two games per week.

Q: When and where do you play?

A: Game times are generally on weekday evenings, with some on weekends. Each team is responsible for arranging their own ice contract. Currently, teams play out of various rinks in Winnipeg, as well as St. Andrews and East St. Paul.

Q: How big is the league?

A: There are currently 13 teams in the league. The regular season is not tiered, so each team should play each of the other teams twice.

Q: What is the cost?

A: Each team sets their own fees depending on team size, ice contract, and referee cost. A full-time player will pay an average of $325 for the season.

Q: I am interested and meet the player Eligibility requirements. I'm new to the league; how do I find a team?

A: Great! We’re always happy to welcome new players to our league. Please contact our Registrar, who can help connect you with a team in your area that is looking for new players.

Q: I’m new to ringette, or haven’t played in many years, and I’m nervous to get back in the game. Is this league right for me?

A: MLRRL might be the right fit for you. We are a recreational league with an emphasis on fun, friendship, and exercise. Contact us by Email, and let's chat!

Q: Can I start a new team?

A: Yes, please get in touch with our Registrar before September if you’re interested in starting a new team. New teams must supply their own ice and referee and have their proposed ice times approved by the board. You are not limited to rinks inside Winnipeg, within reason.

Q: What equipment do I need to play in this league?

A: The list of equipment is as follows (based on Ringette Manitoba regulations):
