General Info on Tournaments

Also this year we are joining both Peak 2 Peak wrestling league and Western Suburban Wrestling League, there are a couple of differences.  Please see the information below:

 

Peak 2 Peak Tournament Info – Saturday Tournaments

  • wrestler's age group is determined by their age as of Sept 1st of 2021 for the entire season
  • Wrestlers will be divided by
    • Age:  4 years and younger, 5 & 6 yr. olds, 7 & 8 yr. olds, 9 & 10 yr. olds and 13 to 15 yr. olds
    • Weight:  will be blocked into brackets
    • Ability: Novice, Intermediate and Advanced
  • Girls division will be blocked by age & weight
  • No Seeding. All scratch weights.
  • Double Bracketing is allowed across age divisions only. Girls can wrestle in both girls and coed divisions.  Separate entry fee for each bracket entered in.
  • Entry Fee for each wrestler is $25
  • Different session times for each division – please check flyer for information
  • Format:  each wrestler is assigned a mat during bracketing and will wrestle on that mat until they are done. We assign a color to each bracket that is on the mat and when their color comes up the are expected to report to the mat for their bout.
  • Spectator admission over 14 years old $5, and 14 years and under free
  • Mask & Spectator policies are control by the school hosting these tournaments and can vary throughout the season. Please check the flyer for detail or I will let you know.

 

WSWL Tournament Info – Sunday Tournaments

  • wrestler's age group is determined by their age as of Sept 1st of 2021 for the entire season
  • Wrestlers will be divided by
    • Age:  4 years and younger, 6 & under, 8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under and Women’s Division
    • Weight:
      • 4 & Under: Weight Classes will be blocked based on actual weight after registration
      • 6 & Under: 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 85 HWT (Maddison Bracketing May Apply Based off Numbers)
      • 8 & Under: 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 87, 95, 112, HWT
      • 10 & Under: 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 120, 130, HWT
      • 12 & Under: 60, 65, 70, 77, 84, 91, 98, 105, 112, 120, 128, 136, 144, 152, 160, 175, HWT
      • 14 & Under: 77, 84, 91, 98, 105, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, HWT
      • Women’s Division: Blocked by age & weight
    • Ability: Novice and Advanced

  • Entry Fee for each wrestler is $21
  • Different session times for each division – please check flyer for information
  • Format: Straight line brackets wrestle on same mat. Brackets with less than 3 wrestlers will be combined by bracketing when appropriate. No wrestle backs for second. Modified Colorado State High School rules. Certified referees and certified trainer on site.
  • Spectator admission – there is a cost to enter, each hosting tournament has set prices.
  • Mask and Spectator policies are control by the school hosting these tournaments and can vary throughout the season. Please check the flyer for detail or I will let you know.

 

Brackets –

  • Peak 2 Peak: brackets will be placed on the wall so you are able to determine your wrestler’s mat and color
  • WSWL: you can find your wrestler’s bracket on trackwrestling.com.  Ask a coach or a parent that has been with us for a while and they can show you how to access it.
