Dear Prospective Player and Parents:

If you are intrested in our travel team program, please review the information below.

Our mission is to build a organization that would allow our travel teams and participants to develop discipline, morals, and character as individuals while operating as a harmonious and successful unit. We also will blend individuals into a team with the opportunity to improve on fundamentals, position skill set, and increase knowledge of the game, while attempting to optimize both personal and team potential. A particular important part of our mission is to prepare each team member to use their talents to achieve scholarships so that they may attain a higher education. Our teams and players will participate in basketball tournaments that are sanctioned and non-sanctioned.

The Southern Basketball Academy Travel Team program has a mission to continue bring much-needed national recognition to our student-athletes. As a result we feel that major and minor colleges and universities will increase the number of full scholarships offered to young athletes from the southern part of the states.

Competition at this level demands skill, dedication, and commitment, from both the players and the parents. While this is important to say, “Only the committed need apply.” If you feel that you fit the parent and player guidelines found in this handbook, that you agree with our philosophy, then you fit the description of a SBA Select Player

It is up to the parent to make sure that their child is watched by their chaperoned person. The coaches are not responsible for the player being supervised within the hotel or other activities. The coaches are responsible for coaching and supervising during the games only. Transportation is up to the family. Players can typically ride with another individual or family member, but it is up to the parent to make those arrangements. Meals would be his/her responsibility.
