Brews in the News 6/5- Mike Devecchio

June 5, 2017

Like any other week, there were plenty of Brews out there getting things done.  But the standout this week is Michael Devecchio.  Devecchio completed his degree at Harford Community College.  Devecchio joined the BrewCrew three years ago, prior to the 2014 season.  Since then, Devecchio has helped the BrewCrew win over 100 ballgames and accumulated several awards.  Primarily, Devecchio has captured two Cy Young awards and won Rookie of the Year.  This year Devecchio was a member of the All-Tournament team for his regional tournament.

We hope Mike can keep both his excellence in the classroom and on the field as he continues his scholastic career at an NCAA Divisiion II Program Coker College in South Carolina next year.

May 30, 2017

Kevin is a new Brew this season after playing the last couple seasons with the team.  Baron would have competed for the starting shortstop position but instead has become the most recent Brew to become a professional player.  He was signed this week by the Pecos league in New Mexico-Texas.  Baron spent his college years with the La Salle batting .284 over his career.  Post-college, Baron played on the Dundalk Brewers in the Susquehanna League and Chesapeake MSBL.  We look forward to following Kevin's promising baseball career.

5/22 Brews in the News- Ben "Benry" Henry

May 22, 2017

The three year BrewCrew veteran and 2015 Rookie of the Year graduated from law school over the weekend.  On May 19, 2017, Ben Henry joined the prestigious classes of University of Maryland Law School graduates.  Benry graduated from Stevenson University in 2013 after competing on the varsity baseball team for four seasons.  Prior to starting his tenure with the BrewCrew in 2015, Benry was no stranger to the competition of the Susquehanna League.  He was a standout for the Baytown Riverbandits prior to the teams collapse in 2014.  Banry celebrated his graduation with his first career BrewCrew homerun on Sunday against the Rattlers.

Ben is pursuing a career in real estate law in the coming years in the Annapolis area.  Congrats to Ben!

Brews in the News 4/10- Tommy Mazurkiewicz

April 10, 2017

For the first Brews in the News, we welcome Tommy Mazurkiewicz to the club for his rookie season.  Tommy spent his college years at Wagner (2012-15) where he played first and third base.  Over his four year career he hit .273, including a career high his senior year of .283.  During his senior year, Tommy also clubbed two homeruns and 29 RBIs.  His career OBP was .359 and the BrewCrew are very happy to have him join the club.  The BrewCrew have many vacancies following the disappointing 2016 season.  "Maz" enjoyed his first tournament with BrewCrew in 2017 where he went 4/11 with 3 RBI and a .571 OBP.  We look forward to a great season from the potential Rookie of the year candidate.
