The Cougar Track Club was established in 2009. It is located in Hampton, GA in Clayton County. We serve a growing population of youth for whom there is a rising number of health problems that are associated with the lack of physical fitness and exercise.
Nicholas Freudenberg, Dr P.H. at Hunter College in New York in a Shattuck Lecture on Improving American Health argued that the low U.S. international ranking in health can be attributed primarily to behaviors such as tobacco use, overeating, and lack of exercise. He suggested that expanding efforts to change these behaviors would represent the best hope for improving health, especially the health of our youth.
Cougar Track Club was a vision that a group of parents had. They envisioned a program that would give kids the opportunity to have fun, be fit, travel, and build lasting relationships.
The vision became a reality with the help of founding parents Nolan and Kendra Wallace, and dedicated coaches like William Jones, Rodney Tookes, and Maurice Williams . Also, let's not forget the parents and kids who make up Cougar Track Club; without them, none of this would be possible.
