2. Goals are set at 10 feet in height.
3. Women’s 28.5 basketballs will be used.
4. Must have a minimum of 7 players on the roster.
5. Five (5) minutes for warm up only! (Must start with 5 players or forfeit)
6. Games will be played in four (4) seven (7) minute quarters with a three (3) minute halftime break. Note: If games are running behind the league director or their staff has the right to reduce game times until back on schedule.
7. The clock stops in the final minute of each quarter on dead ball whistles and starts on the referee.
8. Volunteers may be asked to run the clock and keep the scorebook.
9. Proper substitution throughout the game checking in with the Time Keeper.
10. Only the Head Coach is allowed to stand in coach’s box during the game!
11. On shooting fouls line the players up as normal and shoot from the free throw line. Teams will shoot two free throws for each foul committed after the opponent reaches five fouls in each quarter. Team fouls will reset to zero at the beginning of each quarter.
12. All types of defenses can be used (man to man, 1-2-2, 2-1-2, 1-3-1). Full Court and half-court pressure is allowed from the opening tip.
13. If a team falls fifteen (15) points behind, then the other team’s defense must be behind the 3-point line. Defensive players that try to defend outside the 3-point or free throw area will be warned! On the 2nd warning from the referee a technical foul will be called. Note: Defensive Technical foul is 1 free throw and ball back.
14. Unless listed High School rules apply!
15. When in doubt give the other team the benefit of doubt and go on!
16. Each player must play during the game. Coach will determine that.
17. Players with five fouls will foul out of the game. If a team does not have a substitute, then that team will play with players they have (i.e., meaning four or even three if more than one player fouls out)
18. In efforts to improve sportsmanship, the Donald W. Reynolds Recreation Youth Basketball has adopted the following:
Any “egregious” unsportsmanlike behavior by Coaches, Players, or Fans will result in suspension for that game plus the next game. On a second offense in the same season / same sport will cause the SUSPENSION of the Team and/or Individual for the rest of the season.
Some of the following examples of “egregious” unsportsmanlike behavior:
- Fans constantly verbally attacking officials.
- Fans physically attacking officials.
- Fans attacking other fans at athletic events.
- Coaches physically attacking or verbally berating officials.
FIGHTING IS AN AUTOMATIC SUSPENSION FOR THE SEASON
