Meet Coach Martin

Martin Salinas was born in Houston, Tx and is a graduate of Alief Hastings High School. Martin grew up playing all sports and in his junior year in High School decided to focus on basketball in which he became a 2 year captain. This lead to his decision to be a student-athlete at the University of Texas at Dallas (2003-2007). As a 4-year student athlete and 3 year basketball Captain, Martin finished his basketball career with a conference Championship MVP, Back to Back UT-Dallas Team MVP's, 2006 UT-Dallas Student Athlete of the Year and holding 17 basketball records including UTD’s All-Time leading scorer. Coach Martin's hard work and accomplishments will be recognized in the 2012 UT-Dallas Hall of Honors ceremony and will be the first UT-Dallas basketball player ever to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame. In 2010 he became a member of the ABA's North Dallas Vandals and continues to play semi-pro and competitive basketball. In December of 2007, Martin graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After graduation, Martin played a season of professional basketball in Mexico. His passion for sports and to help others improve comes second to none.
