Q: I want to play but don't know where to start. How do I get involved?
A: Check out the League Info page for basic info about the league. Either form a team of coworkers / friends and register a team, or register as a Free Agent to get added to a list of available players for teams looking to fill roster spots.
------------
Q: What equipment do I need to play?
A: At a minimum, you will need a softball glove to be able to play. Larger baseball gloves also work if you prefer that. Usually at least a few people on a team will have a bat that you can use, but teams will need to provide their own bats (BEESA does not provide bats). Molded / rubber cleats or turf shoes are recommended (no metal spikes are allowed). Athletic clothes are highly encouraged. The league will provide game balls and there are some protective masks available to borrow from the league (pitchers and infielders are highly encouraged to wear protective masks). Check out the league rules for more details.
------------
Q: What kind of bat can I use?
A: BEESA plays under motified USSSA slowpitch rules. Bats must be softball bats with USSSA stamps on them. See here for more info. Wood bats are also allowed as long as they are marked as Official Softball bats. Baseball bats are not allowed.

Q: Where are the games played?
A: All games are played at the fields at the Boeing Activity Center, building 40-201. Address is: 6400 36th Ave W; Everett, WA 98204.
These fields are on Boeing property, so all such rules apply. Pets, alcohol, drugs, and tobacco are not allowed at the fields or in the parking lot. The fields are grass with a dirt infield. There are not lights at the field, which is why our game times are limited.
------------
Q: Who is eligible to play in the league?
A: Boeing employees, Boeing retirees, vendors, customers, contract and government personnel assigned full time to The Boeing Company, as well as, spouses/domestic partners and dependents of those individuals. Please refer to the league rules and Boeing Recreation for details of elligibility
------------
Q: When does the season start? What time are games?
A: Check out the League Info page for info such as this. The night of games depends on what league you are in. Games are typically 5pm and / or 6:15 on your given night of play. Some weeks have double headers, some are single games (this depends on how many teams we have registered).
------------
Q: How many people should I have on my roster?
A: Teams are allowed 10 people on the field during their defensive half of the inning (standard infield positions, and four outfielders). Teams can have as many batters as they want in the batting order and can substitute freely on defense. Note that mixed / co-ed has some additional rules for number of women on the field and in batting order. How many people you have on your team roster depends on how consistent people are at showing up. Typically teams like to have about 13 full time players. Having too many people in the batting order for one game leads to fewer at bats for everyone, and only carrying 10 on a roster can make things tough when people miss games. If you need some more players to fill out your roster for full time or sub, take a look at the free agent list!
