Facilities
Subscribe to our NewsletterWard Field is the home of Coyote Baseball. One of the best playing surfaces around, it finished a complete renovation in January of 2010. The infield playing surface consists of Bermuda Tifway 419. The same grass at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
The new outfield fence is eight foot tall in left and center field, and then jumps to 12 foot in right center and continues to the right field foul pole. The dimensions are asymmetric, which gives Ward Field unique dimensions. From home plate to the left field foul pole, it is 330 feet. It then increases to 370 feet in straight away center. The right field porch shortens to a left handers paradise, only 276 feet away from home plate.
Another addition to Ward Field during the renovation process was the addition of three additional bullpens. The original two are down the right field line, and the three additional ones are located behind the fence down the left field line.
The yellow foul poles down each line were custom made especially for Ward Field.
