Unfinished Business Youth Sports Group (UBYSG)

UBYSG is a pending 501c3 AAU organization that was formed in 2010, as Unfinished Business Basketball. Unfinished Business Basketball was formed to help bring opportunity to the youth of Washington County of knowledge and skill development, in the game of basketball.

We have enjoyed a seven year relationship and are in good standing with our Maryland Region AAU, Director Mr. Ben Dubose, with regular participation in sanctioned AAU Tournaments. Our 9th grade boys reached third place in the 2012 AAU National Championships (East), coached by our Co-Founder, Coach Bryan Barnes.

The 2018 season will welcome the addition of our young ladies into competitive AAU basketball.

Unfinished Business felt it had two specific goals. First, to help curb the trend of out of county programs continuing to be dominate over our county basketball programs. Second, putting our athletes in exposure settings that would increase their opportunities to obtain athletic scholarships for College.

Please see "OUR HISTORY" tab for a detailed account of our journey, however in 2014, Unfinished Business Basketball, elevated it's position to Unfinished Business Youth Sports Group(UBYSG).

Like neighboring counties, Baltimore, Frederick and Montgomery, we have talent in Washington County, in more area's than just basketball. Taking the same premise today, that we started Unfinished Business Basketball with in 2010, UBYSG has assumed  the commitment to youth student athletes to aid in providing knowledge and skill growth, and the necessary exposure to increase Collegiate opportunities in sports.

Should you be a certified Coach via the Positive Coaching Alliance and are interested in growing a team, please go to our "Contact Info" to initiate dialogue.

Gone are the days where a child waits to get to High School, to attempt to master a sport and hope to get lucky by playing in college. The process starts much earlier and youth that have superior knowledge and skill, in their chosen sport, are building resumes with recruiters as early as the 6th grade.

UBYSG looks to serve county youth between the ages of 7-17, however our abilities are largely dependent on the following;

-Like Minded Coaches, with a proven ability to teach and mentor

-Family Support to and from events

-Open and Honest communication between both coach and family on expectations
