Coaches Code of Conduct

The Mission of Bloomer Youth League is provide a healthy environment for the boys & girls of our community to play ball, meet new friends, build self-confidence, and self-esteem. Our focus is to encourage participation, develop character and discipline, promote teamwork, and advocate citizenship and community pride. We will strive to provide quality instruction in the development of baseball and softball skills, sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, competitiveness and fair play.

 Our players will always be our number one priority.

• Treat all players with the utmost respect.
• Be mindful never to shame a player.
• Believe in every player.
• Protect our players.  Be big enough to build up, not tear down.
• Each player is part of our family; they deserve every chance to succeed and deserve the utmost respect.
• Our job is to put our players in a position where they can develop to their fullest potential.
• We are developing successful people, not just successful athletes.

 We will always conduct ourselves in a professional manner.

• We will ALWAYS show respect towards opposing coaches, players, spectators and umpires.
• Remember umpires are imperfect and trying their best just as we are.
• ABSOLUTLY NO screaming, shaming, swearing or sarcasm directed at anyone.
• Know the difference between shaming and coaching.
• Remember that parents are our partners.  We strive to work with each family in helping their sons and daughters succeed.
• Don’t be afraid to apologize.  We all make mistakes.  Public mistakes require a public apology; personal mistakes require a personal apology 

We will strive to teach the game to our players to the best of our abilities and we will follow the rules of the game as defined by the league.

 We will judge ourselves and our teams on how we carry out the above items.

 Consequences

            1^st Offense      Discussion with League Board AND two game suspension

            2^nd Offense     Suspension for the reminder of the season AND board approval to coach again

            3^rd Offense     Dismissal from coaching in the league for life
