Bloomer Youth Baseball and Softball League Info

League placement is determined by players current grade in school.

Tee Ball, co-ed, PreK-K, $30.  Tee ball will be held one night each week in Bloomer.  All players will hit off of a batting tee throughout the season.  Emphasis will be on learning the rules of the game, good sportsmanship, basic fundamentals, and having fun.  League will run from late May until late July.

 

Boys Baseball

Rookie League, Grades 1-2, $35.  Play will be held one night each week in Bloomer.  Rookie baseball is a non-competitive and instructional league that utilizes a pitching machine for all participants.  Runs and outs will be recorded, but good sportsmanship, learning the rules, basic fundamentals and having fun will be stressed.  League will run from late May until late July.

Minor League, Grades 3-4, $45.  Minor League baseball is a semi-competitive, player pitch, league that participates with other local communities in the Chippewa Valley Baseball League (CVBL).  Some games will be held in other towns, and will have multiple games/practices each week.  In this league “normal” Little League baseball rules will apply with a few age specific modifications.  Continued emphasis on good sportsmanship, rules, developing skills and fun will persist.  League will run from mid May through mid late July.

Major League, Grades 5-6, $50.  Major League baseball is a competitive, player pitch, league that participates with other local communities in the Chippewa Valley Baseball League (CVBL).  Some games will be held in other towns, and will have multiple games/practices each week.  Players will practice good sportsmanship, developing overall baseball skills, playing by the rules and having fun.  League will run from mid May through mid late July.

Pony League, Grades 7-8, $75.  Pony League baseball is a competitive league that participates with other local communities in the Chippewa Valley Baseball League (CVBL).  Some games will be held in other towns.  Games are played on an intermediate sized diamond.  Development of players will become more position specific.  Of course good sportsmanship and having fun will be emphasized. League will run from mid May through mid late July.

 

Girls Softball 

8U Grades 1-2, $35. 8U Softball is a non-competitive and instructional league that utilizes coaches pitching for all participants. Teams participate with other local communities in the Chippewa Valley Girls Fastpitch League (CVGFL).  Some games will be held in other towns and may have multiple games/practices each week.  Runs and outs will be recorded, but good sportsmanship, learning the rules, basic fundamentals and having fun will be stressed.  League will run from mid May through mid late July. 

10U Grades 3-4, $45. 10U Girls softball is a semi-competitive, player/coach pitch, league that participates with other local communities in the Chippewa Valley Girls Fastpitch League (CVGFL).  Some games will be held in other towns, and will have multiple games/practices each week.  Continued emphasis on good sportsmanship, rules, developing skills and fun will persist.  League will run from mid May through mid late July.

12U Grades 5-6, $50  12U softball is a competitive, player pitch, league that participates with other local communities in the Chippewa Valley Girls Fastpitch League (CVGFL).  Some games will be held in other towns, and will have multiple games/practices each week. Players will practice good sportsmanship, developing overall baseball skills, playing by the rules and having fun.  League will run from mid May through mid late July.

14U Grades 7-8, $75  14U softball is a competitive league that participates with other local communities in the Chippewa Valley Girls Fastpitch League (CVGFL).  Some games will be held in other towns, and will have multiple games/practices each week.  Development of players will become more position specific.  Of course good sportsmanship and having fun will be emphasized.  League will run from mid May through mid late July.

 

 Additional Information and Expectations

League Fees* help to cover:

1) Team shirts & hats (Note: TBall is shirt only)

2) Team Equipment (helmets, bats, catcher's gear, balls)

3) Umpire fees

4) League Liability Insurance

Other Expectations as set forth by the Bloomer Youth Ball Board of Diretors:

1) Players should have their own pants, shoes, and glove.

2) Each player will be expected to sell at least one coupon page, for $20, as and additional fundraiser.

3) Parents are required to volunteer for at least one position per player. (i.e. 3 players in a family, dad coaches one team, and mom works a concession stand shift for the other two teams.)
NOTE 1: Failure to complete volunteer requirement will result in a $75 fine from the league at the conclusion of the season.
NOTE 2: A $50 volunteer buyout option is available. This eliminates a parents volunteer requirement for ALL players from a family.

*No child will be excluded from participation for financial reasons.  If league fees and/or other expectations are an issue for your family please email bloomeryouthball@gmail.com to confidentially discuss options.
