Hello Teams,

First of all we want to say Thank you to you 12 teams that committed and was patient with the League, Government and Ontario Soccer guidelines to come out.

It was a tiresome wait but the time is finally here to have an Outdoor Season.

Great Job, and we can hardly wait to start. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel.

The schedule is complete.

We will have 1 division with 12 teams.  Each team will play the other teams twice for a total of 22 regular season games and play until mid September. We will play every Monday and Thursday evenings.  (Currently I am still waiting to secure 1 field for Thursday evenings).

If I can’t then there will be a game on Friday night, rotated through everyone, the same as previous years.  We will be using the following fields in London;

North London, Windemere, Chelsea Green, SW Optimist and City Wide.

**Even though the restrictions have been lifted there are still a few things we need to ensure are done to ensure our League continues to run smoothly and in Compliance with Ontario Soccer.

  1. Ontario Soccer clarified that soccer is a non-contact sport and incidental contact will be regulated.  Please be mindful that no unnecessary contact is made during the games.
  2. The players are spaced out on the bench.
  3. Team management must ensure all players are asked at the beginning of each game the Covid-19 Assessment questionnaire, which we will send out.
  4. Ensure the game sheets are complete, correct and legible. Please ensure they are typed.  This will also act as our Contact Tracing, which we have to keep for 30 days.

Some teams have already asked if they can expand their roster more then 16 players.

Currently we will leave it at 16 players and are confident we can expand that to 20, but we want to wait a few weeks before we implement that.

We want to wait until Step 3 is announced to ensure no changes are going to be made to team numbers.

It is easier to add players in a few weeks then to make teams delete players if need be.

Everyone will start their first game this Monday July 5th.

Watch the website for the schedule by the end of the week.

Games have been scheduled for Monday August 2nd (Holiday Monday).

But I am currently looking to move the games to Tuesday August 3rd so we don’t have to play on the holiday Monday and we will not lose a game by not scheduling a game on the holiday Monday.

Stay tuned.

Each team needs to take one net and 2 corner flags to each game to set up.

Referee fees are $60 per game, which means each team pays $30 each game.  Cash is fine.

Please email your scores to the league at  londonontariosoccerleague@gmail.com after each game.

Referees will mail or email a photo of the game sheets to:

londonontariosoccerleague@gmail.com or 2374 Meadowgate Blvd., London, N6M 1L7.

Please carry the Team Player Registration Form to every game  (which Chris will email each team with) as this will provide proof of the players on your team.

If someone challenges a player, they check the Team Registration Form to ensure they are on the roster, then the player must show photo ID to verify the name.

We are all adults and all carry some sort of photo ID with us.

Good luck to everyone this year and lets have a safe and fun season

League Update

I hope this email finds everyone well.

Time is getting on and we are getting closer to Step 2 Return to Play scheduled for July 2nd.

I have a few schedule templates but I am still waiting for additional information from the Province and Ontario Soccer with rules on number of teams, players and bubbles for Step 2.

Once we have this information we can proceed with schedules.

I have tentatively scheduled the first game for Monday July 5th.

Below is a Checklist that we need all teams to complete before hand so that we are able to have a smooth transition to Step 2 without any delays.  Most teams have already completed most of these but it is just a reminder for everyone.

CHECKLIST

  • Registration Fee paid in full.
  • Team Player Registration submitted to Chris.
  • Waivers completed by each player.
  • Concussion Awareness Waiver (Roman’s Law).  As of 2020 all participants under the age of 26 must sign a waiver.   (All waivers are on the website).

Since we could be less than 2 weeks away we must be mindful of our timeline.

We need time to enter the teams and players into the system and finalize the schedule.

Next Thursday is a holiday and the weekend is the long weekend, therefore we need all these checklists completed by this Sunday June 27th.

Please do your part so we can ensure we have a smooth start to the season.

Failure to do so could result in your team being removed from this outdoor season.

Thanks again for your co-operation as it is greatly appreciated.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

**UPDATE**

As everyone has heard in the recent Provincial announcement on re-opening,

it looks as though League play is schedule for Stage 2, which should be around July 8th.

We want to ensure we are ready for this time line and even sooner as anything can happen in the next 5 weeks.

Hopefully sooner if things go well with the COVID cases, vaccines, etc.

To ensure we are ready to go please ensure final payment has been made if you have not already done so.

Also please have your full team roster submitted to Chris by June 15th.  Please remember only 16 players per team.

Ontario Soccer at this time is reviewing the updated framework

with the government health and sports authorities to provide clear direction to membership on what is allowed.

When this information is made available Ontario Soccer will provide further updates.

The League will try our best to ensure a Pro-rated registration fee for the teams for the season.

Now what that amount will be I won’t know until the season starts,

and the final schedule is complete and firm.

I also still have to confirm and negotiate the fees for the fields from the city.

(The field fees are the biggest expense for the league).

Once we confirm this amount we will be able to refund this to you down the road.

We will try our best to make sure the league fees are as low as possible.

As I receive more information I will pass it on to you.

**Current Update**

As per the current lockdown stay at home order until May 20th,

realistcally our tentative start date would probably be June 7th.

Team Managers reminder to submit your Managers Form to Chris McCurdy at cmccurdy@billblaney.on.ca

and $1000 downpayment to Raj at loslpayment@gmail.com

by April 22nd

Attention Team Managers

We're sending out the registration instruction on a partial basis for now. We do not have the finite requirements from our local OSA office (EMSA) yet. For now we will need to be ready to play when word comes that we are able to get on a field.

TEAM REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2021

A) complete the Team management form found on our league website (www.leaguelineup/losl.com).

Please either print the completed form, then sign it, or attach an electronic signature onto the completed form. Once the form is complete and signed please email the copy to Chris McCurdy at cmccurdy@billblaney.on.ca.  The forms are fillable so please complete them on the computer. Hand written forms are not always legible, and may not be accepted. Once we acknowledge receipt of the form you  will be added as a team in the league. This form gives the league the contact information for the captain of that team, etc. This form must be completed and received by the registrar (Chris McCurdy) no later than April 22nd, 2021.

B) Email the downpayment to the league at loslpayment@gmail.com

  • If you wish to use a cheque or other format please call or contact Chris to make arrangements at (519) 657-8289.  We have 2 payment dates that must be met.
  • The first is the downpayment of $1000 by April 22nd, 2021. These monies must be received by the treasurer Rajan Manocha no later than the 22nd of April.
  • The second Payment date is May 22nd, for the remaining $1750.
  • The refund policy for the league was discussed at the AGM. Note that refunds will be issued based on a pro-rata format should the season be cancelled or start late. If we have no season, monies will be refunded in full, similar to last year.

PLAYER REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2021

A) Begin to get you players signed using the player registration form found on our web-site (see above).

  • The online form is fillable. Please complete the players information online.  Handwritten forms may not be acceptable. Signatures obviously will be added manually by the player.
  • We will not be registering players until we know there is a season.  You as the captain need to be ready to field a team once we have the Covid protocols from EMSA.
  • Note that player registrations may be restricted to 16 players per team due to Covid Bubbles imposed on the league.
  • Once we have finite rules from EMSA we will still need to get the proper waivers signed by each player. These will be forthcoming.
  • Again there will be more to come on the individual player registration.

Should more information or questions arise please feel free to call Chris Mccurdy

See you all on the pitch.
