Head Coach: Fred Bruce-Oliver (FBO)
Head Soccer Coach Fred Bruce-Oliver brings over 3 decades of coaching experience to the table
for the Wolfpack. Bruce-Oliver’s playing days began in the late 70’s when he began playing for Pomona
College where he played for 4 years. During his time at Pomona, the Sagehens won 3 SCIAC Championships
and played in the NCAA Division III Finals in 1975. Bruce-Oliver also played semi-professional soccer for the
Claremont UCFD for 2 years.
When his time was over at Pomona, Bruce-Oliver began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at the University
of La Verne from 1981-1982. After his stint with the Leopards, Bruce-Oliver moved over to Cal Poly Pomona
University and took over as an assistant coach where he remained from 1983-1989. Bruce-Oliver left the
college ranks, but in 1997 returned to take over the reigns of the men’s soccer program at Citrus College where he continues to coach.
Bruce-Oliver has been the Boys’s Head Coach at Claremont High School since the 86/87 season. During his reign Bruce-Oliver captured a CIF Division I Championship in 1994 and then more recently in 2011. Including his duties at the high school Bruce-Oliver has been pivotal in his coaching duties with the traveling soccer club the Claremont Stars where he has coached for 16 years. In 1997 Bruce-Oliver led the Stars to the Surf Cup Championship.
Bruce-Oliver obtained his Bachelor’s of Arts from Pomona College in 1981. Bruce-Oliver is also a substitute teacher
and a member of the Cal South coaching staff as well as being a scout. Bruce-Oliver enjoys watching soccer, reading (mostly soccer literature), and world history.
Assistant Coach, Eddie Flores
Assistant Coach, Goalkeeper Coach, Jeff Tackett
Coach Jeff Tackett has been involved with soccer for over 30 years. Jeff played soccer until a career ending injury resulting in two reconstructive surgeries. After his playing career Jeff focused his passion into coaching. Jeff is Director, Southern California School of Goalkeeping and has been the goalkeeper coach at Mt. San Antonio College, an assistant head coach/goalkeeper coach Cal Baptist University, head coach West Coast Soccer Men's Semi-professional team. Director of coaches/player development Corona United Soccer Club, Assistant coach/GK coach Cal Poly Pomona University men's soccer. Director of coaching Corona Eagles F.C. Head coach/GK coach Anaheim Bolts Pro Indoor Soccer and an assistant coach/GK coach Ontario Fury Pro Indoor Soccer.
Jeff graduated from Cal Baptist University where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. Jeff has a clear teaching credential and is a Ca. state teacher and has numerous coaching licenses and credentials. Jeff has been involved with the Claremont HS soccer program since 2000.
Head JV Coach, Paymon Minaie
Coach Paymon has been involved in the game of soccer for the past 17 years playing club soccer for Claremont Stars and Celtic Premier. Paymon also played soccer for Claremont High School from 2009-2013.
Paymon currently attends Citrus Community College and plans to transfer and graduate with a Bachelors degree in Business.
This is Paymons first season being the head coach of the CHS boys JV soccer team and he looks forward to another great year!
Head Frosh Coach, Nathan Armas
Coach Nathan has played soccer since he was 4 years old playing club soccer for Foothill Storm and Claremont Stars. Coach Nathan also played soccer for Claremont High School from 2012-2016 and was named first team All-League.
Coach Nathan currently attends Whittier College majoring in Business Administration.
This is coach Nathan's 3rd year of coaching and first year as Head Coach of CHS Frosh Soccer.
