ALL of our PRACTICES are scheduled to take place at AVALON field #1. That's the field that is next to the Hockey Pavilion (If looking at the three fields from the parking lot, it would be the end field on "your" RIGHT). Head Coach Kevin will advise on DATES and TIMES of our practices.
OUR FIRST MEETING
We had a GREAT first meeting. Thank you PARENTS for coming out. It was a pleasure meeting all of you. It seems obvious that you are caring and supportive. That's going to make for a FANTASTIC SEASON!!!! See you at PRACTICE tomorrow!

WATER BREAKS / MOUTH GUARDS
We had a great FIRST practice and we appreciate the effort each player is giving. We ask that you take note of the following two points:
MOUTH GUARD (PIECE) - please make sure your son has a MOUTH GUARD (piece) that is ATTACHED to the helmet. This attachment is the only way we can tell if your son is wearing one and the rules require that they wear a mouth guard WITH attachment in the Games. (Kim reminded me that two were provided to each player so this should be a non-issue)
WATER BREAKS - Please re-enforce to your son that when he needs a water break - he should take it. There's plenty of water for our players and we encourage parents to monitor your son's needs as you know him better than anyone.
Our PRE-SEASON GAMES - (Jamboree)
OUR GAMES ARE SCHEDULED AS FOLLOWS (Aug. 16):
PLEASE be at the field no later than 12:15 P.M.
1:15 P.M. Field #3 - Auburn vs. Kentucky
3:30 P.M. Field #3 - Alabama vs. Auburn
Jamboree (Pre-Season Game(s) - (August 16th)
MYA Preseason Tournament Rules
1 - Each Contest/game will last 2o-minutes with a continuous running clock.
2 - Each team will be awarded 1 timeout.
3 - Clock stops only for change of possessions (as markers are reset), timeouts & injuries.
4 - Clock will not stop on out of bounds plays.
5 - No kick-offs. Ball will be placed on the 40-yard line at the start of the game and after a score.
6 - Extra points can be kicked with no running clock.
7 - Punting will be allowed.
8 - Referees will be encouraged to move the game along quickly.
9 - Stall tactics will not be tolerated.
TUESDAY'S Practice - August 5 at 6 P.M.
ALL PLAYERS will be fitted at TUESDAY'S practice for PANTS. Kim wants to make sure we have the correct size for each player. We will either do this before or after practice.
REGULAR SEASON GAMES (FIRST THREE)
August 23 4:00 P.M. Kentucky vs. Auburn at Avalon Field #2
August 30 12:00 P.M. Auburn vs. ELCA - Gold at Avalon Field #2
September 6 10:30 A.M. RR vs. Auburn at Warren Holder Field #2
After the first three games we will be placed in either Division "A" or Division "B" at that time, we will receive schedule information for our remaining games.

Our TIGERS put forth a great effort in their two practice games today. We came up short in both our games, but not by much. UK came out on top by a score of 7 to 6 and we finished against AL with a score of 7 - 0. These games were a great help to us in showing areas where we need to make improvements and changes. Our boys did a fine job overall and we are proud of their efforts.
OUR NEXT PRACTICE WILL BE ON MONDAY AT 6 P.M. AT AVALON FIELD #1. SEE YOU THERE!!!!! THANKS RANDY FOR CALLING THE GAME -- YOU DID A GREAT JOB!

The Tigers drop one to the Wildcats
The Tigers suffered a tough loss in their season opener against the Wildcats. UK struck first with a touchdown run, but the tigers answered back with a 49 yard touchdown run by #7 Logan Holland. UK answered with another score, but on their kick off Tiger's #7 Logan Holland did it again and ran it back for a touchdown. The first half ended with the score tied 13 to 13. The Tigers were shut out in the second half and UK scored two more times for a final score of 26 to 13.
On the defense - #20 Tyler Wagner led with 6 tackle assists plus 4 solo tackles. #80 Trey Bowling made 2 fumble recoveries. The Tigers sacked the Wildcats QB two times. One by #5 Elijah Levy and one by #77 Alan Tillman. #7 Logan Holland also made six tackle assists!

Our TIGERS had a great practice today. We worked on blocking techniques and how to shake off a blocker when you're on the defensive side of the ball. We worked on new plays and made adjustments where needed. It was most impressive to see how our OFFENSIVE LINE is developing. They understand the importance of knowing where the ball is going and what their job is to make sure the play is successful. It was WET & MUDDY, but that didn't slow anyone down. GOOD JOB TIGERS!!! SEE YOU ON THURSDAY!!!

Offensively, the tigers got a TOUCHDOWN on a handoff to Tyler Wagner who in turn handed off to Logan Holland on a reverse. Adorian led in rushing and made some great plays!
Defesively, it was Trey Bowling who led with FOUR solo tackles. There was a FUMBLE RECOVERY but it was difficult to tell who made it when observing the game video (Please let us know who made this great play!)
The TIGERS appeared to be fired up and ready to take this game, but mis-tackles and key blocking contributed to today's loss. Coach Kevin and the rest of the coaching staff still believes in our TEAM! We need to re-group, get back to work and put our heads into the game. A NEW SEASON BEGINS for our TIGERS and we look forward to some exciting football!!
