HIGHLIGHTS: Down 4-1 at halftime, Garden City (23-0) rallied by scoring five consecutive goals to win their second Long Island championship (the first Class A championship in Long island history). Ward Melville (22-1), which was shut out for over 25 minutes until Chip Mayer scored with 38 seconds left in the game, lost to the Trojans for the second year in a row. Over 4,000 fans sat through pouring rain to watch Garden City come back behind three assists from junior attackman Mickey Cavuoti.

HIGHLIGHTS: Elmont (20-2) won the inaugural Long Island Class B championship over Rocky Point. Junior attackman Matt Panetta had eight points and the Spartans broke out to a 5-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. Jeff Reh and goalie Tony Guido kept the game close for Rocky Point as Elmont won its first Long Island championship since 1980.

In front of 4,201 spectators at Hofstra, Garden City defeated Ward Melville, 10-5, to win their first LIC since 1966. The Trojans (22-1) put on a dazzling display of offensive stickwork against the Patriots (20-1) vaunted zone defense in the first half, building an insurmountable 8-1 halftime lead.

HIGHLIGHTS:
At the 1:30 mark of the second sudden-death overtime period, Charlie Caliendo of Manhasset scored from the crease to give the Indians (19-2) their first Long Island Championship since 1967. Two-time LIC Ward Melville (17-2) tied the score at seven with 3:34 left in regulation and again in the second overtime with 1:52 left. Manhasset won the faceoff in the second sudden-death period to set up the goal by Caliendo on a pass from Nick Rae in front of over 2,750 at Hofstra.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Over 6,000 watched Ward Melville outscore Farmingdale 7-3 in the second half to win their second straight Long Island Championship. Patriots (22-0) midfielder Malcolm Anderson scored four goals while Farmingdale (22-1) attackman Bruce Chanenchuk led all scorers with six points in the loss.
