REST PERIOD | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
0 Days Rest | 1 Day Rest | 2 Days Rest | 3 Days Rest | 4 Days Rest | ||

- Players may not pitch in multiple games on the same day.
- Pitchers, once removed from the mound, may not return as pitchers.
- A player may not pitch in three consecutive games played by their team, regardless of the number of days between games.
- If a player pitches in Game 1 and Game 2, they must not pitch in Game 3. The player becomes eligible to pitch again in Game 4, provided they did not pitch in Game 3 and as long as they are not otherwise restricted by mandatory rest periods due to pitch count limits.
- Rest periods are full calendar days, not based on hours.
- If a pitcher pitches on Monday and requires 2 days rest. They may not pitch again until Thursday.
- In this example: Pitch Monday, Rest Tuesday, Rest Wednesday, Available Thursday.
- Maximum Pitch Exception: If a pitcher reaches their daily max limit while facing a batter, they may finish pitching to that batter before being removed from the mound.
- Any violation of pitching rules will result in forfeiting the game.
- The withdrawal of an ineligible pitcher after that pitcher is announced, or after a warm-up pitch is delivered, but before that player has pitched a ball to a batter, shall not be considered a violation.
