LEAGUE RULES FOR CONDUCT DURING GAMES AND/OR PRACTICES

Players, Coaches, Managers, Parents, and Spectators:

Players, coaches, umpires or managers shall not make disparaging  or insulting remarks to or about opposing players,  officials, coaches or spectators. Likewise, spectators shall not disparage, insult, or harass players, coaches, managers, or officials. The umpires shall exercise their authority during a game to stop such violations and should suspend play and may order the removal of the offender(s) from the game and grounds. Board Members also may order removal of the offender from the grounds if the conduct is taking place away from a game.  The offender may provide a written report at their discretion to the Board of Directors.

 

Park policies state that no alcohol or tobacco of any product of any kind is allowed in the park.  Offenders will be asked to leave the park immediately.  Depending on the severity of the conduct, offenders may be suspended for the remainder of the season. The spring season may includes all-stars.


Complaints regarding umpires should be written and given to the Umpire in Chief. If the complaint is regarding the Umpire in Chief, please contact the Vice President.

Managers/Coaches:

Each manager/coach is responsible for controlling their players'  and players' parents' unsportsmanlike comments or remarks.  This sport is for the girls to learn, compete and have fun.

Managers/coaches having complaints about other managers/coaches shall  contact the division director.

 

Please refer to Article X, Section 1 of the bylaws for additional rules of conduct for Managers and Coaches.  Also refer to the Code of Conduct found on the Coaches Application.

Games:

If a team is batting their roster and a player is ejected, an out will be recorded for the ejected player’s at bats. If a player is injured, umpire and scorekeeper from opposing team must be notified. The player will be taken out of the lineup and no out will be recorded when it is their time to bat.

Equipment:

Each player participating in practice, practice games, regular games, or tournaments shall wear a protective batting helmet with a facemask while in the on-deck position, while at bat, or while on base. 


Penalties for Unsportsmanlike Conduct:

The penalty depends on the severity of the misconduct and will be decided by the Board of Directors.

Verbal Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Umpires/Board Members have the right to ask anyone to leave the park for unsportsmanlike conduct.

PENALTY: A minimum of removal from the field to a maximum of a season suspension. The spring season may also include all-stars.  Suspension means that the offender will not be allowed on the softball field which includes the dugout during games or team practices.   The offender can request to meet with the Board to give his/her side of the events that took place.  Board will make every effort to have the issue resolved within 48 hours.

Physical unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. If a player, coach, umpire,  or spectator pushes, shoves, or strikes another player, coach, spectator or umpire an immediate suspension will be issued. The offender can request to meet with the Board to give his/her side of the events that took place. The minimum penalty for this conduct will be suspension for the rest of the season.  The spring season may include All-Stars. Repeat offenders may be given a two year suspension from the League.
