The Sunday Select League for the 2014 - 2015 Season has officially started. The season will consist of 9/10 games this year. The League fee is $250.00 and referees will be paid on the court ($30.00 per game). If you have not yet paid your team's registration, please contact the HYSL Commisisoner.

RULES: High School Federation Rules will apply except as stated within these Rules & Regulations.
Weather Cancellations: HYSL Winter Select League follows AA County cancellation policy. Check Anne Arundel County website: http://www.aacounty.org/recparks/cancellation.cfm or call 410-222-7312.
Rosters: AA County official rosters will count as roster for this league. If a team does not play in the AA County League a roster must be submitted that includes full name, date of birth and age of each team player. Eligibility is determined by age as of 9/1/14.
Clock: Each half will be 20 minutes in length. The clock will run continuously except for official time outs for injuries. The clock will stop for all whistles during the last 2 minutes of each half and the last minute of any overtime period(s). All overtime periods will be 2 minutes and the clock will run continuously the first minute and will stop on all whistles the second minute. If the point differential is greater than 20, the clock will NOT stop during the last 2 minutes of the game for anything other than official time outs.
Time Outs: Each team will have three 1 minute time outs per game. One additional time out will be awarded for each overtime period played. Unused time outs can accumulate and be carried over into overtime periods.
Game Time: Forfeit time for the first game of the day/evening is 15 minutes. After that, forfeit time is game time. Each team MUST have 4 players to begin the game.
Forfeits: Each team is allowed 1 forfeit. If a forfeit occurs, the team must pay one game referee fees ($60.00) for the forfeited game prior to their next scheduled game. If a 2nd forfeit occurs, the team will be dropped from the league.
Scorer’s Table/Bench Area: The scorer’s table will be the keeper of the official book and time. Line-ups must be entered into the official book by each team before the start of each game. The team bench and scorer’s table area is reserved for players, coaches and score keepers. No spectators or parents are allowed on this side of the court. A maximum of 3 adult, registered & backgrounded coaches/assistants may sit with the team. This includes the head coach, assistant coach and score keeper. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Back Court Press: Back court pressing IS allowed during the entire game for 10/U and above age groups. NO back court pressing will be allowed until the last 5 minutes of the game for the 8/U and 9/U leagues. Back court pressing will NOT be allowed at any time when the pressing team is ahead by 20 points or more.
Code of Conduct:
- Any player, coach or spectator thrown out of a game or gym for unsportsmanlike conduct will be ineligible to participate or be a spectator for 2 games. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Only coaches are permitted to bring basketballs into the gym to warm up with. Please do not allow players to bounce, throw or shoot balls between games, during time-outs, halftime or while any games are in progress.
- There is to be no loitering or ball playing in the hallways of the schools.
- No food or drinks are allowed in the gyms, except water bottles that are used by the players which are to be kept in the bench area at all times.
- Smoking is NOT permitted on school grounds.
Referee Fees: Fees ($30.00 per team per game) must be paid on the court 5 minutes prior to the start of the game.
Game Balls: 8/U, 9/U, 10/U and 11/U will use 28.5” ball
All other age groups will use regulation 30” ball
Awards: Individual awards for 1st place in each age group.
