VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

The Diocese of Metuchen requires all adults who volunteer in any way must undergo a fingerprint screening and attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children for Adults seminar. This includes coaches, team parents, class parents, class trip chaperones, as well as anyone who volunteers in school in any capacity.

PLEASE NOTE: This form is for volunteers only, not employees.

COACHING REQUIREMENTS:

All potential coaches must complete the volunteer process first. All coaches regardless if head coach or assistant coach, must be a person of 21 years of age or older and are required to:

• Have a current volunteer application and background check (within the last three years) on file in the parish/school office.
• Have attended a three hour session of Protecting God's Children.
• Have completed, with certificate, 3 National Federation courses; Online and Free: 1. SPORTSMANSHIP, 2. BULLYING, HAZING AND INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR, AND 3. CONCUSSION IN SPORT. Found at no cost at NFHSLearn.com and have provided certificate of completion.
• Read the Diocesan Code of Pastoral Conduct and signed a statement of compliance with this document.
• Attend and Annual Meeting
• Coaches are not allowed to be the head coach of more than one team in the same sport season. They may be an assistant coach for a second team.
• Abide by the By-Laws set forth by this league.
