* NOTE: Individual Swimmers who qualified for the County Championships for any specific event PRIOR to the Skylands Invitational, do not swim in that event during the Skylands Invitational, and "Automatically" earn Varsity Status for the season.

Individual Events (Placement given on the Top 12  Fastest Individual Times):

POINTS FOR AN EVENT WITH A MINIMUM OF 12 SWIMMERS SWIMMING IN IT:

6th Place  =    9 Points Earned
7th Place  =    7 Points Earned

9th Place  =    4 Points Earned
10th Place =   3 Points Earned
11th Place =   2 Points Earned
12th Place =   1 Point Earned

Relay Events (Placement given on the Top 6 Fastest Relay Team Times):

1st Place  =  (16 Points Total for the Relay Team [4 Points Earned for each individual on that Relay Team])
2nd Place  = (12 Points Total for the Relay Team [3 Points Earned for each individual on that Relay Team])

6th Place  =  (2 Points Total for the Relay Team [.5 Points Earned for each individual on that Relay Team])

IMPORTANT NOTE: Coach Koenig has informed us that the Invitational Points Breakdown above are based upon a MINIMUM of 12 Swimmers swimming in any given individual event. If there were less than 12 total swimmers swimming in that specific event, during the Invitational, the "Points Earned" will be adjusted accordingly (For Individual Events, starting from the 12th Place Points Level upward until all of the number of swimmers in that event have been reached - ie: For an event with only 8 Swimmers swimming it it, the points would be as follow:

1st Place  =  10 Points Earned
2nd Place  =  9 Points Earned
3rd Place  =   7 Points Earned
4th Place  =   5 Points Earned
5th Place  =   4 Points Earned
6th Place =    3 Points Earned
7th Place =    2 Points Earned
8th Place =    1 Point Earned

The same logic would be applied to the Relay Events during the Invitational (Original Point Levels are based on a MINIMUM of 6 Relay Teams swimming in that event)

. "Specific Point Information" for the Joan Rusby Invitational, Skylands Invitational and the County Championship will be posted on this web site, once finalized after the completion of these events, to ensure accuracy.
