About

GMFCA's Track & Field Club belongs to the USATF Three Rivers Track Association which is a collection of Pennsylvania Counties West of- Potter, Centre, Clinton, Huntington & Bedford; WV Counties- Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, & Ohio. We compete in several track meets within in this area as well as The Three Rivers Association Junior Olymipc Championships, USATF Region 2 Junior Olympic Championships, and the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships.

Preparation for the season begins with practice when we start training and conditioning. We only have six weeks to prepare for the first meet, so we have to work hard and be diligent. Because there is so much to learn in such a short period of time, we do practice 4-5 days a week from March through May. This a huge commitment of time from all the coaches, athletes, parents and board members of this organization. The benefits will show on and off the track & field as your athlete's confidence, self-esteem, passion and understanding of the sport grows. We think this makes our program one of the elite in the USATF program.

A word about coaching: Our coaches are dedicated to your child and the sport. Many of the coaches have been active at different levels of competition as coaches and players.  All coaches have been certified through USATF which includes the USOC Safesport training & background checks. We ask you as parents to let the coaches coach. While you are not on the track/field and not closely involved with the activities, there is no way you can totally understand all of the coaching goals, objectives and strategies. There is a huge amount of information for the kids to learn in a very short period of time. Give them time to absorb and become experienced. Be supportive of your child’s efforts to learn. As always, you may discuss any questions or concerns with the coaching staff either before or after practice.

The goal of our youth track & field club is to ignite the passion for excellence in young athletes through a dynamic youth program. We are committed to providing a supportive and empowering environment that fosters the development of speed, endurance, and sportsmanship. Through coaching, personalized training, and a focus on individual growth, we aim to equip our athletes with the skills and mindset necessary for success on the track/field and in life. Our program is dedicated to instilling values of discipline, resilience, and teamwork, while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. By nurturing each athlete's potential, we aspire to build a community of confident, well-rounded individuals prepared to conquer challenges and achieve their goals.
