Morning NTX Thunder (Dragonites) Parents,

Thank you for taking your players to our scrimmages yesterday. We believe the scrimmage was very important in getting our players used to game speed and game time duration.

Coaches were also able to see what positions players would be playing and what style / formations would be used for all our teams.

A few notes.

Schedules are out and I worked on them last night. We should have schedules on our website / Facebook page by today. The good news is all our games will be played at Winters Fields and only a few games (one maybe two per team) will be played during the week. All teams play Saturday except our 2008 boys.

We will also be working on our practice schedule and only make changes if weekday games interfere. A few things to consider.

1) Fridays and Sundays we have no scheduled games. These are days we are looking at for practices. Need to know from everyone if these days would be a problem?

2) Coaches agreed using an actual soccer field really helps during practice and helps players especially with corners, goal kicks, penalty kicks, goalkeeper training etc..... We are thinking of using Audubon as one of our practice locations possibly Fridays and/or Sundays. Please let us know if this would be a problem with anyone?

Just a reminder that we will be ordering team soccer bags today(have attached a picture to this email and will post on website / facebook page also). Please let us know if you have not ordered a bag yet and decided you do want one for your player. We will be placing order in about 1 hour(around 1200PM - 1230PM). Again the bags will really help out with player equipment and our extra clothes.

A new subject we are still looking for players / asst coaches / team parents to help our teams / youth soccer club. Below is a list of number of players and coaches listed for each division. Remember no soccer experience is necessary but helpful.

U8 Boys - 10 players - 3 coaches 1 team parent / manager

U9 Boys - 10 Players - 4 Coaches 1 team parent / manager

U11 Boys - 16 Players(maxed out on players) - 3 Coaches 1 team parent / manager

U11 Girls - 14 Players - 3 Coaches 1 team parent / manager

U14 Boys - 15 Players - 6 Coaches 1 team parent / manager

Other than our U11 Boys that our maxed out on roster our teams could use at least one more player.

U8 Boys - 12 Roster Maximum currently have 10

U9 Boys - 12 Roster Maximum currently have 10

U11 Girls -  16 Roster Maximum currently have 14

U14 Boys - 18 Roster Maximum currently have 15

Again we could use 1 more player for our U8B, U9B, U11G and use two more players for U14.

Last season we had multiple games were we played 1 player short in games or had no subs so our players were exhausted towards the end of game. Ask your player if they have relative and/or friend that would like to play with them on the team. No experience is necessary but athletic kids(kids that like to play sports) usually last on the team(and adjust to the game quicker). They do not need to live in Garland only requirement is that they do not or did not play with a team last season. Please let us know if your player knows anyone and we can give further instructions on how to register.

We still are looking for volunteers to help out with the teams. Helping out in practice would be helpful but more important is being available for the games. We would like at least 4 coaches and 2 team parents. Our 2014 boys are a good example as we have 6 registered coaches and 1 team parent / manager.
