Game 1           10:30am          District 4 Laurel v. District 1 Conococheague

Conococheague wins 17-1, behind pitchers Brown, Sauer, Detrick and Oates.  Conococheague jumped out to an early lead with 5 runs in the first inning. Jorden Brown and Christian Loon led the hitting for Conococheague. Loon had 2 hits, a walk, 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs. Jordan Brown had a double, single, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Laurel’s Drew Van De Have had a double and RBI.

                                   

Game 2           2:00pm            District 5 - Elkton v. District 2 Thurmont

Thurmont wins 11-1. Thurmont pitchers included McMannis and Lowry. Will Gisriel had 2 homerun, Logan Simanski and Connor Crum each had a homerun to lead Thurmont to the victory.

                               

Game 3           2:00pm            District 7 Hughesville v. District 6 Easton                                   

 Easton wins 9-3. Easton pitchers Baynard, Fitzhugh and Bentz combined for the win. For Easton hitting; Cal Roser had a hit and scored 3 runs, Jack Dukehart had a double and scored a run, Chris Baynard had a double and homerun. For Hughesville; Logan Quade had a hit and scored a run, Trent Gerhardt scored 2 runs.

Game 6           1:30pm            District 5 Elkton v. District 7 Hughesville

Elkton wins 6-3. Elkton and Hughesville entered the 5th inning tied 2-2, when Elkton scored 4 runs including a 3 run homerun by Eddie Marsilli. Brandon Uhde and Jacob Whiteman combined for 9 strikeouts limiting Hughesville to 3 hits and 3 runs to advance to the next round. Elkton will play Monday at 4:30pm against the loser of the Berlin/Conococheague game.

 

Game 5           4:00pm            District 2 Thurmont v. District 6 Easton  

Thurmont wins 17-0. Thurmont continues to hit the ball well. Will Gisriel hit a 3 run homerun. Joey McMannis had a solo homerun. Josh Skowronski and Logan Simanski combined for a no hitter striking out 10 batters. Thurmont moves on to play Tuesday at 7pm against the winner of the Berlin/Conococheague game. Easton will play Laurel Monday at 7pm

           

Game 4           6:30pm            District 8 Berlin v. District 1 Conococheague

Berlin wins 12-1. Berlin broke open a close game in the 3rd inning with a homerun by Jack Quisgard. Brenner Gursky and Ryan Mclauglin also hit homeruns. Jack Quisgard ended the game with a 2 run homerun. Berlin pitchers Zach Powers, Calvin Lorance and Luke Mergott kept Conococheague bats quiet. Berlin advances to face Thurmont on Tuesday at 7pm. Conococheague will play Elkton tomorrow at 4:30pm

Game 8           4:30pm            District 1 Conococheague v. District 5 Elkton 

Conococheague wins 4-3. Hard fought game by both teams. Tied game after 4 innings. Thomas Detrick knocks in Caleb Newcomber for the go ahead and winning run in the bottom of the 5th for Conococheague. Christian Luhn, Landon Meyers, Thomas Detrick, Jordan Brown combined for the win while Dylan Shifflet closes out the 6th with the save. For Elkton Brandon Uhde pitched a tough game going the distance. Conococheague advances to face the winner of Game 7, between Laurel and Easton, tomorrow at 4:30pm.

          

Game 7           7:00pm            District 4 Laurel v. District 6 Easton

Easton wins 11-1. Easton breaks open a close game in the 3rd with 6 runs behind a 3 run homerun by Peyton Paugh. Jake Dukehart kept Laurel to 1 run over 4 innings for the win. Easton advances to play Conocochegue tomorrow at 4:30pm.

Game 10         4:30pm            District 6 Easton v. District 1 Conococheague

Conococheague wins 8-0. Conococheague scores 5 in the second inning behind a 2 run homerun by Sammy Franklin. Skylar Sauer, Jordan Brown, Thomas Detrick and Caleb Newcomer combined for 12 strikeouts and the win. Conococheague advances to play the loser of Berlin/Thurmont tomorrow at 6pm.

 

Game 9           7:00pm            District 8 Berlin v. District 2 Thurmont

Thurmont wins 3-2. Great game between Berlin and Thurmont. Thurmont jumped out to a 2-0 in the 1st inning, added one more in the 3rd to go up 3-0 before Berlin fought back. Jack Quisgard hits a long home run in the bottom of the 6th to bring Berlin within one run. Logan Simanski struckout 7 batters and pitched a great game but ran out of pitches in the 6th inning. Josh Skowronski came in to close the game. Zach Powers, Luke Mergott and Jack Quisgard pitched for Berlin striking out 6. Thurmont advances to the finals and waits for the winner of the Berlin/Conococheague game which will be played tomorrow at 6pm.

Game 11         6:00pm            District 1 Conococheague v. District 8 Berlin

Berlin wins 9-2. Berlin jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning and continue to add to their lead going up 9-0. Conococheague fought back in the 5th with 2 runs before Berlin was able to close it out. Ryan Mclauglin, Luke Mergott and Zack Powers all hit homeruns for Berlin. Ryan Mclauglin, Adam Gardner, Cole Lynch, Calvin Lorance and Jack Quisgard combined pitching for the win. Berlin advances to face Thurmont tomorrow in the Championship Series and will need to beat Thurmont twice to win the State Championship.

Game 12         6:00pm            District 2 Thurmont v. District 8 Berlin

Thurmont wins 11-5 and  are the 2017 Maryland State Champions in Major League Division. Thurmont is on its way to Bristol, CT. Thurmont jumped out to an early 11-0 lead. Thurmont had 10 total hits led by Josh Skowronski who had a solo homerun, a 2 run double, and 3 runs scored. Josh also led the team to the win with 3.2 innings pitched. Joey McMannis pitched 2.1 innings of shut out relief. Berlin was led by Brennan Gursky who hit a 3 run homerun. Calvin Lorance pitched 4.2 innings of shut out relief for Berlin.
