Welcome to the New and Improved PCC Basketball Group!!

Welcome to 2019 and some big improvements for the 2019 PCC Basketball Seasons. We hope you enjoy the new league website which includes our schedule, statistics, forms, registration, teams, email reminders, apparel, and so much more. Even instructional videos and sports relevant articles. AND that's right you heard me. APPAREL! Check out the league Fan Shop to design your own PCC Basketball Group shirts, hats, and sweatshirts with proceeds going back to the league to help pay for things like this website. Try it out, it's pretty cool.

We are also rolling out the new group logo along with new jersey's. For over 15 years now we as a group of men, as young as 18 and as old as 68, have met on Monday nights to play basketball and enjoy fellowship while volunteering to help important causes. While a few players have been around for all 15 years, new players join every year. Thanks for joining us this year! We hope you enjoy all these great improvements and changes.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS GROUP?
We are not your normal basketball league which is the reason we call ourselves a Group and not a League. We don't believe that winning is everything. Before or after each game we take part in fellowship and a short devotion to talk about any number of topics with the intent of growing and being better people. We take pride in volunteering to help those in need. Although we are part of the Palos Community Church you do not have to be a part of the church to play in the league. But we do ask that you be willing to help out and get to know others in the group.

PLAYING BASKETBALL
We play three season each year. One in the Winter, Fall and Summer. Each season lasts around 12 weeks with 3 or 4 weeks in between seasons. The Winter and Fall season are for Adults and each season we have different teams. Captains are elected for each team and all players who are signed up are eligible to be drafted. Captains draft their teams in a snake type draft and are in charge of their teams.

Games are played 4 on 4 due to the size of the church gym. We only have one official and we follow your standard IHSA rules.

Our Summer league is unique because we allow for younger players to join as well. The summer league does not have an official but adults get the opportunity to play with their children who are old enough to play. High School and College age children play with their parents.

VOLUNTEER WORK
When it comes to the league we pride ourselves on helping others. We have helped during SON Weekend where we volunteer to help others who are less fortunate. We also take the time to find other volunteer opportunities to help people as much as we can.

LETS HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
We hope everyone is as excited about the big changes as we are. Here's hoping everyone has a wonderful 2019 and God watches over each and everyone of us to keep us health and safe.
