Announcement of the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame - "Class of 2020". See listing of inductees below as well as individuals highlighted in separate posts below this one.

The ceremony is scheduled for approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Mudville Sports Complex at 3350 Route 28, Herkimer, NY 13350. It will be the centerpiece for the 40th Annual - 2020 James "Ace" Morabito Invitational Softball Tournament which will be held that weekend. Sixteen of the state's top High School Softball Programs teams (including at least three defending state champions) will play two games apiece on Saturday, then two games apiece on Sunday. Section 1

Tammy Wray – Shortstop, Somers HS, Class A (2006-2010) - Five-year player. 2010 New York State Class A Player of the Year, All-State selection twice, All-Section 1 four times, Batted over .500 in her Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior seasons, highlighted by a .623 BA, with 10 Home Runs and 34 RBI season as a senior. - Louisiana State University.

Lisa Buckley – Catcher, Pelham HS, Class B (1987-1991) - 5 Year varsity player. All-State in 1990 and 1991 (All State Classification was not created until 1990, otherwise would have been All State all 5 years of her high school playing years). Career .677 batting average. 5 Time All Section 1 selection. - Fordham University. 

Kaitlyn O’Flynn – Pitcher, Pearl River HS, Class A (2008-2011) 3 Time All-State Selection (2009, 2010, & 2011, 1st Team All State twice). 5 Time All Section 1 selection. During her Junior Year, she pitched Pearl River to the Class A State Championship, pitching to a 18-3 record with a 0.85 ERA. - SUNY Oneonta

Section 2

Mary Beth Dombrowski - Shortstop, Bethlehem HS Class of 2011, Class AA - 1 New York State Player of the Year, Five-year Starter. 3 time All State selection. Four-time all-section. Senior year: .346 batting average, 4 home runs, .589 on-base percentage. - Syracuse University

Section 3

Carol Welch, Catcher, East Syracuse-Minoa HS, Class A, Class of 1989. Played before All-State era. Was 1st team All-League four years. High School stats are missing. Was a superb hitter and defensive standout.

Margaret Yerdon, Pitcher/Infielder, Sandy Creek High School, Class C, Class of 1997. Six years on varsity. 1 State Class C Player of the Year. 1st team All-State 3 times, 3rd team All-State twice, went to the State Class C Final Four 3 times. - Binghamton University

Coach/Contributor Mike McCrobie, Oswego HS, Class AA-A (1989-2012, 2014-2017). 1 Time State Co-Coach of the Year. 431-214 Career Coaching Record. 3 Section 3 Championship, 1 Sectional Runner-Up, 6 League Titles. Worked on the All-State Selection Committee for approximately 10 years. In 2000, was the Chairman and Host for the Section 3 Softball Championships

Section 4

Peg Bush, Deposit HS, Class D, 1986-88. Team won 1 state title. Career Batting Average - .431; Career Fielding Percentage - .970; First Team All League Twice. - University of Massachusetts.

Amy Vredenburgh - Catcher, Chenango Forks HS, Class B, Class of 1990. All-State first team equivalent the first year it was formed in 1990. Likely would have been 1st team All-State her first two years as well as a Catcher (allowed no stolen bases her Sophomore and Junior years). Hit .443 as a Junior, .462 as a senior. - Canisius College.

Quincy Lewis, Pitcher, Corning HS, Class AA, Class of 2012, All-State three times (1st Team All State in 2012). 5-year starter (4 years as a Pitcher). 63-15 career pitching record with a 0.93 ERA, totaling 533 strikeouts in 583 innings. Career .486 average - Shippensburg University

Section 5

Julia DiMartino, Pitcher, Northstar Christian HS and Brockport HS, Class D/AA (2010-2014) - 1st team All State three times, 2014 New York State Class AA Player of the Year. Career 1,079 strikeouts, 0.42 ERA, Batted .437, 15 HRs. 2014 James "Ace" Morabito Tournament MVP. Missed her senior year with an injury. - Liberty University

Section 6

Coach Gerry Gentner, Williamsville South HS, Class A and B, (1997-2011) - Died in 2012 - Class B and A. Posted a career 259-65 record. 3 NYSPHSAA State Championships and 8 Section 6 titles. Two Time New York State Coach of the Year.

Caitlin Attfield, Shortstop, Niagara-Wheatfield HS, Class AA, Class of 2012, A 1st and 2nd Team All-State Selection, 5-Year varsity starter. Has State Stolen Base Record (128) and is 2nd in Career Hits (248). - University of Alabama-Birmingham. Drafted by the Dallas Charge in the 2016 National Professional Fast Pitch Softball League

Section 11

Coach Dave Miller, Smithtown West HS, Coach/Contributor - 507 career wins. Was on the All-State selection committee for more than 10 years. 38 years Varsity 2 years JV. 10 League Championships, 1 Section 11 championship. 31 Playoff appearances (27 in a row)

Donna Thompson, Smithtown East HS, Class of 1988, Class A - 2 consecutive Section 11 Class A Championships. 4 league titles. Career batting avg. of 420 with 100 RBI. University of Virginia

Melissa Byrne, Pitcher, Connetquot HS (1990-1993), Class AA - 3 times All-State Selection – 1993: 95 Innings Pitched-153 Ks, ERA`1.05. Record 13-1 (929%). 1992: 82 Innings Pitched-126 Ks ERA 0.91 Record 8-4. 1991: ERA was 0.74 - St. John’s University

Diana Consolmagno, Third-Base/Shortstop, St. Joseph by the Sea HS, (1997-2000) – Led her team to 1 State CHSAA Title and 4 NYC Archdiocese Titles, 3-Time All-State selection. Career .471 batting average with 72 RBI’s, and 51 Stolen Bases. – University of Wisconsin
