Cowboys Easily Dispatch Yellow Jackets on Senior Day

The Litchfield Cowboys easily dispatched the Gilbert Yellow Jackets on Monday, 11-1.

Litchfield jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first after Zack Richardson induced Joe Sepples to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Chase Reynolds singled, scoring one, and Gus Worden doubled, scoring two.

The Cowboys added to their lead in the bottom of the third after Nick Dest singled, and Reynolds hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Litchfield scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jack Gollow doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Dest and Sepples each hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run each. 

Gage Rohrer stepped on the bump for the Cowboys. The starter allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Richardson stepped on the mound first for Gilbert. He gave up eight hits and 11 runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking one.

Dest and Lipinsky were a force together in the lineup as they each collected two hits for Litchfield. Dest, Worden, Reynolds, Gollow, and Sepples each drove in two runs for the Cowboys. Dest stole two bases.

Brett Maguire led Gilbert with two hits.

The Cowboys travel to Dunkin Park to take on Wamogo for the final time on Wednesday at 3:30 PM. Go Cowboys!
