Good afternoon SSBHL!

Another amazing week of hockey, without delay let’s dive right into the numbers and our top players of the week! 

Offensive annihilation!

1st) Aidan Lovett Dominated in his first career SSBHL Game, and was running full steam, scoring 3 Goals, and getting three assists, which racked him up a wild six points total! Theres no telling how many points this guy will stack up with eight games remaining in the season! Considering his points this game was more than half his entire team, speaks volumes so this players ability to score, pass, and engage all teammates. Incredible start and magnificent work!

2nd) Tied at second we have Matt Swan of the Joes, and Howard Troughton of the Spiders. Swan Was clicking with his new linemate Aidan and Managed to get three goals and two assists! totaling five points! While Howard managed to net two goals and three assists! Both players were instrumental in their efforts to get their respective teams the win. Both Players showing early in the season the importance of teamwork and goal scoring! Excellent work!

3rd) In third place we have a 3-way tie in points. Tyler Merrick of Stone Hands, Matt Leary of Spiders, and Nick Provenzano of the Pitbull’s. All three players got four points total! Tyler with three goals and one assist, Matt Leary with two goals and two assists, and Nick with one goal and three assists! Tyler was more offensive oriented and got three of his team’s five goals, Leary had a solid balance of scoring and passing and combined for more than half his team’s points that game, and Nick was a pass expert, with three assists and a single goal on top. Overall amazing work by you three! Four points is nothing to sneeze at! 

Dastardly Defense!

1st) This Weeks Defender of the week has and needs to go to Matt Leary, Captain of the Spiders. The guys were breaking up odd man rushes, blocking shots, helped his team kill a power play late in the game, and managed to score two goals and two assists on top. When you play both ends of the rink like this, you are bound to have success! Magnificent work! 10/10

2nd) In 2nd is Smokey Joes own, Aaron Gerstel! This man was all over the defensive play whenever he steps foot on the rink. Whether he is getting his stink into the play, or blocking a shot, he is always right in the action. He also contributed to the points with one goal and one assist! Keep it up Aaron!

3rd) in 3rd I was personally impressed with the Pitbull’s, Sat-Bir Khalsa! I loved his game! He participated in breaking up so many dangerous scoring chances in his zone particularly. I saw him intelligently place himself in the right spot every time he was out there, laying out his body to block shots and just giving his goalie an easier time in net. Overall great heart and smart play my man, Excellent job! 

Trama inducing Tendys!

1st) Dan Harding of the Spiders Once again is on top in the goaltending department, in due thanks to his teams solid Defense! Dan Faced 39 shots making thirty-eight saves, and held onto a 0.974% and 1GAA, overall considerable numbers and did his job to get his team the Win. Grand work! 

2nd) Right Behind Dan we have Manny DeBettencourt, who was an absolute wall in the 1st and 2nd period. No matter what the Hawks were throwing at him, they could not breach till it was too late! Manny maintained a 0.897% stopping 26 of 29 shots and held a 3.0GAA. Splendid work Manny!

3rd) Behind Manny, we have the Smokey Joes very own, Paul Mendonca, aka Panda! Who Secured the Win with solid Goaltending, coming in with a 0.839% and stopped 26 of 31 shots! bravo Panda! Keep up the solid work!

6th) Hooligans: 0-2-0 / 0 Points / 7 GF / 16 GA / -9 GD
