~Warm Night For Games~

It was another warm night on 6/3/25 for T-Ball, Baseball and Softball. This evening all 3 of the fields had games being played on them starting with the Minors League & T-Ball at 5:30. The Nationals were up against the Royals in back and forth battle between the teams. The Nationals ( 2-5 at the time ) coming off a 2 game winning streak, were the visiting team and were first up to bat. The first batter stepped up to the plate and after a couple of balls, the first batter hit it to the outfield and managed to get an in the park HOMERUN! Batters 2 & 3 hit the ball also and got on base. The next few batters hit the ball and got ended up getting out but managed to bring home two more runs. The 7th batter came up to the plate with two outs already on the scoreboard and struck out. The Royals ( 4-3 at the time ) were now up to the plate at the Bottom of the 1st Inning. Batters 1 & 2 hit the ball while batter number 3 got out on first base. This brought in 1 run while batter 4 & 5 hit the ball to bring in another run. The next two batters were up with one striking out and the next one getting the third out. From this point on it was back and forth between the two teams in the 2nd inning as neither team scored a run. The start of the 3rd inning saw the Nationals strike out at the top of the order. Batter 2 hit the ball but ended up getting GO4-3 with this being the second out of the first half of 2nd Inning. The next two batters came up to the plate and got on base. Batters 5 & 6 hit the ball, got on base and brought in two more runs. Batter 7 was up to the plate and hit the ball but it happened and they got a GO1-3. The bottom of the 3rd inning started off with the Royals striking out. Now they were at the top of their order and scored 4 runs bringing the score to 6-5. It was a quick inning as batters 6 & 7 struck out ending the inning. The start of the 4th inning is where things started to change for the Nationals. Four runs were scored by the Nationals with two batters striking out and the third being tagged by the second basemen while trying to make it to 2nd. The bottom of the 4th inning saw the Royals hit the ball, get on base, have a GO1-3 and then two batters struck out ending the 4th. The start of the 5th inning was almost a repeat of the 2nd inning except one National did get on base but the next 3 batters struck out ending the top of the 5th. Now it is the start of the bottom of the 5th and this is where things too a huge turn in the game. The Royals came up to the plate starting at the bottom of the order with batter 12 striking out. Now this is where it gets interesting for everyone. The Royals are at the top of their order and they got on first base. Batter 2 came up to the plate and hit it right to the Nationals pitcher getting the second out. The runner on first base took off towards 2nd base without tagging up and the pitcher threw the ball to the first basemen getting the double play in and winning the game. Both teams played very well against each other but in the end, it was the Nationals who came out on top with the final score being 9-6. The Nationals are now 3-5 while the Royals are now 4-4.

~7:00pm Minor League Game~

The 7:00pm game got under way with the Diamondbacks vs. Phillies. The Diamondbacks were the first up to bat and had gotten their bats swinging getting players on base and being the first to score in this game but this wasn't their only scoring run. At some point during the game, they did manage to score another run on the Phillies. Then came the Phillies who were ready to play tonight although we aren't saying the other teams aren't because they are. The phillies got their bats swinging during the game and even switch up players from their normal positions to different positions in the outfield and infield. Not much is known about what went on during this game but in the end it was the Phillies who came out on top with a score of 15-2. While it was a victory for the Phillies, the Diamondbacks didn't let this loss get to them as right after the game you could see players from each team playing around on the playground, running around, etc, etc. With this win the Phillies are now 7-1 ( leading the Minor League Division ) while the Diamondbacks are 0-8.

~5:30pm & 6:30pm T-Ball Games~

T-Ball games started at 5:30 & 6:30 tonight. With this division there is no winner or loser as all the teams tie 1-1 by the end. There really isn't much to say about the games that were played but again it is all about teaching the fundamentals of baseball in T-Ball.

~7:00pm Softball Game~

Now let's move to the 7:00pm game on A Field. The Girls Softball team played their first home game tonight against Ligonier Valley. The game was a lot of back and forth between the two teams all throughout the evening. GJYL Girls Softball was keeping the game close throughout the evening until it came to the 7th inning with the GJYL Girls. This is where the game took a huge turn for the girls in the top of the 7th. There were a few errors at first, second, and third bases that gave Ligonier Valley the advatage over the GJYL Girls with Ligonier Vally being on top 12-6 by the end of the first half of the 7th inning. It is now the bottom of the 7th and it just wasn't the night for our girls as Ligonier Valley got a quick 3 outs to end the game with the final score being 12-6.
