On a hot Friday, a hot team of Mike & Rick took on Fred & Richard. Mike got 3 strokes, while Fred and Richard got 5 each.

 

1-  all on in 3.  Mike and Fred tie with 5 net 4. 

2- Fred, Richard and Mike on in 3 Rick on in 2. Rick 2 putt par. Fred & Mike in for 5. Richard thinking Fred was in for 4 slaps his ball off the green. A senior golf moment. Mike and Rick being the friendly guys that they are let him replace the ball. Richard drains a 6 footer to tie.

3- All on in 2 putting for par. All four putts missed. Tie.

4- Richard trouble right. Fred, Mike and Rick near the green in 3. Rick chips in for birdie. MR Up 1.

5- Good drives by all. Rick on in 2 and 2 putt par. Mike, Fred and Richard on in 3. Fred in with 5 net 4 to tie.

6- Fred OB right. Mike and Richard in the hazard left. Rick over in the middle and on in 2. Two putt par wins the hole. MR Up 2.

7- Rick, Mike and Richard on the green. Fred left fringe chips close. Richard has 2 putt par. Mike putts to 2 feet and Rick putts to 13 inches. Putt is not given. Mike drains his putt to tie. 

8- Mike and Rick on in 2 and two putt pars. Richard and Fred on in 3. Fred's two putt 5 net 4 ties the hole.

9- Richard struggles up the left side. Fred and Rick in front of the green in 3. Mike there in 4. Rick encourages Fred to chip it tight. He does to 6 inches. Rick on and 1 putt to tie. MR Up 2 at the turn.

 

10- All on in 3. Fred 1 putt for 4 net 3 wins. MR Up 1

11- Rick, Fred and Richard trap trouble. All get out and 2 putt for bogey. Mike on and 3 putts. Tie.

12- All drives are good. Rick on in 2. Mike short is on in 3. Richard left fringe. Fred long left and drop then chips on in 4. Mike misses par putt. Rick putts to gimmie. Richard chips to 3 ft and misses putt to tie. MR Up 2.

13- Richard in the pond. Fred and Rick on. Mike chips from right fringe. Fred and Rick 2 putts to tie.

14- Trouble around the green for Mike and Rick results in double bogey. Richard and Fred get down for bogey that wins the hole. MR Up 1.

15- Richard hazard right. Fred hazard right on 2nd shot. Mike and Rick on in 3. Hole is given. MR Up 2. 

16- Fred, Mike and Rick short right in 2. Richard trouble right. Mike chips on and 2 putt for 5 net 4. Rick encourages Fred to chip it close. He does but is left with an uphill 5 footer. He drains it for 4 net 3. FR win. MR Up 1.

17- All on in 3. Richard and Mike in for bogey. Fred has a 12 foot par putt and drains another one. Rick misses putt to tie. All square.

18- Mike and Richard struggle near the green lying 5. Rick on in 3 with a long putt. Fred chips on to 20 ft lying 4. Rick putts and slides by 4 ft. Fred putts leaving it short by 5 ft. He drains it for 6. Rick has a putt to win the match. It slides by left. Match is tied. What a great finish and comeback by Fred and Richard.

 

Fred and Mike shot 85. Richard 91 and Rick 78. Mike and Rick were up by 2 three different times in the match. Fred and Richard kept coming back Fred was the star, chipping close and dropping putts. Let's not forget the huge gift on hole #2 given to Richard. Mike and Rick have been nominated for the Friendliest Friends and Golf Award.
