CHARTIERS VALLEY COMMUNITIES GIRLS SOFTBALL LEAGUE

The CVC March Declaration meeting was held Sunday 3/15/26 at 1PM at the Bridgeville Borough Building at 425 Bower Hill Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.  The meeting minutes are as follows:

1) Role call - 9th Ward, Avella, Bellevue Avalon, Brentwood, Bridgeville, Carnegie, Charleroi, Collier, Etna, FCYFP, Greentree, Hempfield, Ingomar, Monessen, Moon Twp, Perry, Peters Twp, Scott Twp, South Allegheny, South Park, Southside, St Louise, TWIST, Union FInley, Wellsburg

2) Pay registration fees / provide rosters with players(if available now), must provide coaches info, home game info and no play dates .  Link to Declaration/Roster Form

• If you cannot attend the meeting you can email your declaration forms to CVCLEAGUE@HOTMAIL.COM and send check for fees payable to CVC to the address of the Treasurer: Shane Franchick 1414 Critchfield Dr  Bridgeville, PA 15017
• You can update your form with adding players up until the 1st game you play.  Thus if your roster is not ready for the 3/15 meeting, we still need the declaration form with coaches info and blackout dates and home dates/times/fields so we can start scheduling.
• League Fees:
  • 6U - Free
  • 8U - $85 per team
  • All other ages slow and fast - $85 per team if you provide proof of USA Softball Insurance, otherwise $115 if you do not have USA Softball Insurance as USA Softball fee ($30) is being passed along to teams

3) Important dates for meetings and season start/end/playoffs

• April Managers Meeting 4/4/26 @ Bridgeville Fire Hall (370 Commercial Street, Bridgeville, PA 15017) starting at 12pm - Managers Meetings by age group to discuss rules and handout schedules.  8U identified volunteer umpires invited to 8U timeslot to understand rules.  All CVC Umpires are also invited to attend.
  • 12:00 pm - 6U T-Ball
  • 12:30 pm - 8u
  • 1:30 pm - 10U Slow
  • 2:00 pm - 12U Slow
  • 2:30 pm - 15u Slow / 18u Slow
  • 3:00 PM - 10U Fast
  • 3:30 PM - 12U Fast / 15u Fast
• Season Starts for all ages except 15u Fast 4/13/26
• Season Starts for 15u Fast 5/11/26 but have option to play earlier if not impacted by high school ball
• Season End for all ages except 15u Fast 6/13/26
• Playoffs Start for all ages except 15u Fast 6/15/26
• Season Ends for 15u Fast 6/20/26
• Playoffs start for 15U Fast 6/22/26

4) Roster / Draft Rules:

• Fast Pitch - You cannot have more than 2 out of school district players per team
• 8u - You must have 75% of players rostered in your school district
• Slow Pitch - You cannot have more than 4 out of school district players per team
• You must evenly split the number of players between mutiple teams for the oldest age of an age group. For example, if you have 3 teams in 10u age group you must divide the teams equally at the oldest age
• Besides splitting by oldest age in an age group above, multiple teams in an org at an age group should not be stacking a team.  Draft your teams fairly after meeting rule above. 
• Use the players age per chart below to calculate age  as of August 31^st of the prior year (8/31/25) for Spring season

   

5) Ball Specs per age group:

• 6u Tball - 11” standard softball (rubber/training balls are NOT recommended).
• 8U / 10U Slow / 12U Slow - 11" 44 cor 375 compression
• 15U Slow / 18U Slow - 11" 52 core 300 compression
• 10U Fast  - 11" 47 cor 375 compression w/raised stitches
• 12U Fast /15U Fast - 12" 47 cor 375 compression w/raised stitches

 6) Organizations that want to host playoffs:

• 8U - Brentwood - All teams make the Gold bracket (top half of 10 divisions) or Silver bracket (bottom half of 10 divisions)
• 10U Slow - North Fayette/Moon Twp - top 4 from each of 3 divisions (12 Teams)
• 12U Slow - Kennedy - top 4 from each of 3 divisions (12 Teams)
• 15U Slow - Robinson/North Fayette/Bethel Park - top 4 from each of 3 divisions (12 Teams)
• 18U Slow - Ingomar - top 4 from each of the 2 divisions (8 Teams)
• 10U Fast - North Fayette / USC - top 2 from each 7 divisions and top 2 3rd place place teams (16 Teams)
• 12U Fast - Findlay Twp / TJ - top 2 from each 6 divisions and top 4 3rd place place teams (16 Teams)
• 15U Fast - South Park/Munhall/West Mifflin - top 4 from each 3 divisions (12 Teams)
• CVC only received limited dates  from the Washington Wild Things to play some championship games at Wild Things Park due to Pony Baseball and Wild Things home schedule.  At this time we have approved Friday 6/19 for 2 slow pitch ages, the other 2 slow pitch ages will be played at the host field.  Option 2 - we have access to Wild Things Park Sunday 6/21 all day and could play all slow pitch finals that day starting at noon, but this is Father's Day.  Robert Morris University will tentatively host 10U Fast (6/18), 12U Fast (6/22), 15U Fast (6/25).  Still working on host for 8u gold and silver championships, may be held at the host site tentatively 6/22.

7) Organizations Preliminary teams:
